A lot of air is leaking from the ductwork, and I need to find where it is.
I think some of the duct tape came off one of the joints and is leaking a lot of air.
My wife and I checked the area just below the air handler where our Heating and A/C system is installed and did not find air leaking out, so I assume it is somewhere along with the ductwork. In my beach house, the vents are in the floors because there is no attic or crawlspace, and the ceilings are too low to run ducts. Maybe some rats started munching on the tape on the ducts. All I need to do is visit the local corporation to pick up some duct tape. The air conditioning had been failing to cool the beach house down much for quite some time, so I cleaned the HEPA filter first, but it still didn’t work as well. Then I observed restricted air flow from the vents. Several of the ducts must be leaking. I will contact my friend who works at the local HVAC business to see if he can come out and help me solve the problem. If I can’t figure out the problem myself, I will give them a call in the morning tomorrow since they aren’t open today, which is Sunday.
