Now that we are into November, I knew it was time to call the Heating, Ventilation & A/C supplier & have the gas furnace cleaned & prepared for winter.
The people I was with and I can get some undoubtedly freezing days in late November & throughout September in our area. I did not want to turn on the gas furnace & find all of us had a problem. When I called the Heating, Ventilation & A/C dealer, I hoped they did not send the same Heating, Ventilation & A/C professional as I had when getting our a/c unit inspected in the summer. That Heating, Ventilation & A/C professional was the most enigmatic guy I would ever met. I couldn’t get more than a 1-word answer out of him whenever I asked about the a/c unit. At 1 point, he did not even seem to acknowledge that I was talking to him. I walked into the house, & I was sure I heard a sigh of relief come out of his mouth, as if thanking the universe that I was gone. I had met a guy who had very little to say, even though he at least answered a question with a direct answer. He seemed to want to hide what he was doing, & I wondered if he would not try to rip me off. I later found out that our mysterious Heating, Ventilation & A/C professional was hard of hearing. He only picked up half of what I was asking about the AC unit. Instead of admitting he had a hearing problem, he answered the question with an answer that would suit as long as the question only needed a easy yeah or no answer. I knew it would embarrass me if the same Heating, Ventilation & A/C professional showed up to labor on our gas furnace.
