For as long as I’ve owned our house, I was constantly under the impression that the air filters I was regularly replacing were removing the dust and debri from the air in our home.
It wasn’t until I mentioned something during our latest Heating and A/C tune up about our air filters that the Heating and A/C professional called me out on our mistake.
She told me something that would change everything I believed about our Heating and A/C system. According to him, the air filters I was putting in and out were simply to protect the inside of our Heating and A/C equipment. These air filters had nothing to do with the air quality in our home! The Heating and A/C professional also told me that if I wanted to improve the air quality of our home, I needed to install a special kind of air filter within the ductwork. This wasn’t something I could do on our own either because it needed to be professionally installed by an Heating and A/C professional. The professional who installed them would help me option the best air filter for our needs. I couldn’t suppose this news because I was convinced that the air filters I was replacing were doing something. I feel it was all a sitebo effect though because our home’s air quality wasn’t getting any worse or better. The inside of our Heating and A/C machine was being kept wash though and that is what’s entirely important. Knowing this, I don’t feel I’ll feel so much pressure to update our air filter as frequently.
