For months, we searched for the perfect beach house for rent, so we could take our kids to the beach.
There were plenty of indoor things to do, so my kids didn’t need to be out in the sun all day.
There were activities to do when the sun went down, and we brought plenty of games and things to keep them occupied. We found the perfect beach house that had been newly renovated and put our two week deposit down. The first day we arrived, we were getting settled in, and only left the perfectly air conditioned beach house to go out to dinner. The next morning, we were heading out to the beach for a couple of hours, and then it was time to get out of the hot sun. When we got back to the beach house, the air conditioning was off. I asked my husband if he had turned it off when we left, but he said no. I knew I hadn’t touched the thermostat. I called the rental office and told them the air conditioning unit wasn’t working. She told me she would have someone at the beach house within an hour. It was almost five hours later that I called again. The beach house was unbearable, and we got in the car to do some sightseeing, just to keep cool. She said someone had arrived, but we weren’t there. She had a key and should have assumed we wouldn’t stay there in a hot beach house. The HVAC technician arrived twenty minutes later. He said he had just been notified the AC wasn’t working, or he would have been there hours ago.
