I was hearing the air hiss every time the furnace turned on, there was less heat coming through the air vents, and I knew our furnace was running for longer periods of time, then i told the Heating and A/C supplier receptionist that I wanted someone to inspect our furnace and do a superb inspection of the air duct.

I was hoping I needed repairs to the furnace, however I was sure I was going to need to update the air duct; When the Heating and A/C contractor was done with his inspection, he told me I had holes in that air duct that were so big, a small rodent could get through.

I cringed, thinking I had rats in the house. I asked if our air duct was easily that ratty, then he said there were no rats yet, however that was how big some holes were, however most of our heat was escaping into the basement, and anywhere else where the holes were. He told me I had to update the entire air duct system, which was going to be quite costly. I didn’t even want to guess about the cost. He explained how they now made a flex pipe air duct. It was adjustable and took up less room that the metal air duct. The cost was almost half of what it would be to make the metal air duct and it didn’t rust through. I liked the thought of flex pipe air duct, and asked when he could have it installed. He measured up the amount of flex pipe I would need and gave me a quote for the air duct and the upgrade, and although it was still wildly costly, it was a lot cheaper than traditional metal air duct.

They were all over our lake house and hovering on the wall over the air vent in our home office. She said he didn’t know how they go inside, unless there was a crack in the HVAC duct, and the Heating and Air Conditioning professional would need to find that. I felt adore I was talking to an idiot. She didn’t have an original thought in his head. I told his to send the Heating and Air Conditioning professional to the house. I would call an exterminator to make sure there were no other creepy crawlies hanging out in the HVAC duct, and then their Heating and Air Conditioning business could repair, clean, and sanitize our HVAC duct. She was smiling while talking and told me that was smart thinking. She wished he had thought to tell me that. The exterminator was at the lake house the next afternoon, and the Heating and Air Conditioning professional arrived the same afternoon. He called to have the HVAC duct cleaners come to the house. He had found multiple small cracks in the HVAC duct, but nothing the HVAC duct cleaners could not repair. Within multiple afternoons, the mayflies were gone, and our HVAC duct had been cleaned, repaired, and sanitized.

6 am is too early for our alarm to go off! I’m already in the office and this week I get to see our brother Mark back at our Heating and Air Conditioning corporation.

I’m truly gleeful to see him and I hope he got me a souvenir! I truly don’t care if he got me one though however just having our brother back out in the field laboring on people’s heating and cooling needs with me is something I have been missing the last 2 weeks.

I hear him walk in and I hear him yell, “Hello!” I welcomed him back with a huge high several and said you have been missed, however also, the two of us have some work to do already, however mark then said, “I started yeahterday on Mrs, and swanson’s heating system and Charlie’s smart temperature control.” Mark continues to tell me he just got back yeahterday and he already was put to work so he didn’t have time to settle back in for this week. I was a little sad for him because he wasn’t supposed to technically start back this week and they should’ve reached out to me however they didn’t. I told Mark just to take his time this morning because the two of us truly don’t have much to do until 10 am. A few minutes later our father walks in. Mark seemed a bit confused and asked if he just got in. I told Mark that our dad has been here for a few mornings now and he has helped me out a bit with our Heating and Air Conditioning business, but dad smiled and said, “Hey Mark, I have been waiting to see you.”
