I draw a hard line on saving money when it comes to the HVAC system in my house.

I like to save money just as much as the next person does, that’s for sure.

I am always trying to figure out new ways to save money. Whether it’s a sale or a special or clipping coupons, I am always trying to pinch my pennies. I think that it is the best way to live honestly. I have never really splurged on anything at all. I don’t buy fancy purses or shoes or anything like that. All of my clothes come from secondhand shops, and I am totally fine with that. I’ve also never purchased a brand new car before. Honestly, the only thing that I ever really don’t mind spending money on is the heating and cooling system in my house. I am a person who thinks that the indoor air quality in my home is the most important thing of all. Over the years, I have spent all kinds of money on making sure that the indoor air quality of my home is the best that it can possibly be. I also spent quite a bit on installing a whole home air purification system. I also schedule bi-monthly check-ups for my heating and cooling system, because I always want to make sure that the maintenance never goes undone. Some people may think that I spend too much money for regular routine maintenance, but I don’t think that is the case at all. I know that it’s worth it when it comes to my air quality.

Thanks to my kids, I have had to lock down the thermostat at our house! Let me tell you, they can be so annoying sometimes. Sometimes they seem to think that they own this house instead of me. They also seem to think that they don’t really have to contribute or pay the bills but they get to do whatever the heck they want to around the house. That always makes me really mad because I work really hard to make sure that everything in the house is always nice and comfortable. I make sure that there are groceries in the cabinets, paper products in the pantry, and clean sheets on the beds. I make sure that the electricity bills are paid, that the water bills are paid and that the trash is picked up. All I ask for my kids to do is to make sure that the dishwasher gets cleaned out. Well, that, and that they don’t ever touch the thermostat. I don’t want anyone except me touching the thermostat because I have worked really hard to get the new smart thermostat system settings just the way that I want them. It has taken a long time for the smart thermostat to learn the schedule that we keep as a family and I don’t want it to get all messed up. However, my entitled children seem to think that they can come and turn the heating up and down however they want to, whenever they want to! It has made me so mad that I have finally decided that I am going to lock it down. I called the HVAC company to ask them how to put a code in to lock up the thermostat. Now my kids can’t change it at all.

I got a promotion back before Christmas, and I have already moved to the other branch of our company where my new job is located.

The problem with that is the fact that my husband is still at our other house trying to sell it and I had to come down and find a new house here all by myself. It’s a really weird situation, that’s for sure. We never really thought that this kind of thing would happen to us when I put in for the promotion. I thought that I might have a chance at getting it, but I was pretty surprised whenever they called to tell me that I had received the promotion. It turned out that I was going to have to move pretty far away in order to take the job. That was fine with us because we were thinking about moving away anyway. We wanted to live in a new location with a better climate. It gets way too cold around there in our old neighborhood for my taste, anyway. I ended up moving to a new house and it’s really great. I knew that it would be a little bit weird to live in a house without my husband at first. However, I knew that he was going to love the house that I chose for us. The place is amazing. The heating system is radiant floor heating, which is really great during the winters. We also have a high efficiency heating and cooling system. The best part is the giant wood burning fireplace that’s in the great room. I love the house even more than our old house.

I never expected the HVAC in our car to break down.

My car was only two years old, and there was no reason for the HVAC system to not last as long as the car.

I was really upset when it broke, because we were heading north for Christmas. The temperatures were in the lower twenties, and it was 2 PM. I heard a weather report and they were predicting temperature at zero or below by midnight. I couldn’t imagine driving another five hours without heating. I told my husband I was going to be a pregnant popsicle by the time we reached his parents. We started looking for a service station that did HVAC repair, but we weren’t finding one. I got on my phone and did a search for HVAC repair services. There was a truck stop about five miles ahead, but it said there was no car services. I hoped they would help us out because it was cold, I was pregnant, and we had no heat. When we got to the service station, he started to say they didn’t work on cars, but I got out of the car. I was tired, shivering, and he was staring at my belly. He asked when the kid was due and I told him I had about three weeks. He nodded to the empty bay and said to pull all the way to the end. There was heater next to where we stopped, and he brought a chair over for me. He had someone bring me hot chocolate and another seat to put my feet on. He said he remembered his wife being that pregnant and he wanted me comfortable while fixing the HVAC system.

My uncle was disenchanted with his career and said it was time for him to make change before he was too old.

I thought fifty was too old to change careers, but my uncle was a handsome man with a lot of vigor.

He had one more year before he could retire from the police station, and during the year he went back to school to become an HVAC technician. He told dad that he hated how bad the police were and he really didn’t want to associate with them. If he were to become an HVAC technician, he could do something that would benefit people and not make them tremble with fear. Dad told him that if he graduated and got his HVAC certification, he would hire him. He was always looking for good HVAC technicians, and he had no doubt Uncle Bill would be an excellent HVAC technician. For the next year, he was in a police car during the day, and going to school at night. He loved going to school, and even though he was older than the instructor and the students, he was a natural HVAC technician. The instructor called dad one afternoon, and asked if he was related to Uncle Bill. Dad told him it was his twin brother, and asked if there was something wrong. He asked dad if Uncle Bill was going to join his HVAC company when he got his certification. If not, he wanted him working in his. I overheard dad laughed and he told him that since he was his brother, he had first dibs, and to keep his hands off the rookie.
