Ever since our kids moved out, my wife has been driving me crazy the way that she spoils our dog.
I guess she’s just having empty nest syndrome or something but the way she treats this dog is just ridiculous.
She spoils this dog way more than she ever did any of our kids. I know that it probably drives them crazy too. Last week she just went completely over the edge when she called up our local HVAC company to have them come out and put in a special heating and cooling system for our dog in the backyard. I told her that this was the craziest thing that I had ever heard of, and she just looked at me like I was the crazy one. She said that sometimes the dog gets too cold when he’s outside in his doghouse. She said that it only makes sense for us to put a heating and cooling system in the doghouse because he needs to be just as comfortable as we are inside of our house. I rolled my eyes and told her that indoor air quality just is not as big of an issue when you are an animal. She said that that was not true at all and that the dog deserves to breathe air just as clean as the air that we breathe inside of our house. She’s even thinking about installing an air purification system in the doghouse! I don’t know at what point I should actually put my foot down about this whole thing, but I think I’m getting close.
