The heating system in the loft is quite ancient and our partners say that it should entirely be replaced.
We know that is because it sounds so loud when it kicks in.
However, to us, the sound of the heating system running is so soothing and we care about it. Picture how a lot of people love the sound of rain drumming on a roof when they are sleeping? That’s how our overly loud heating system sounds to us when we’re sleeping in winter. But, our partners at our loft don’t feel that way. They think that it’s just an annoying roaring sound whenever the heating system kicks on during the night. We will confess that it’s quite loud when it first comes on, however after you get over that sound, the roar is so soothing. It’s similar to you kneeling next to a roaring fireplace or something like that. Our partners say that it’s crazy because the furnace is not supposed to be as loud as a truck on the highway. They insist it’s supposed to be background noise in our house, not the first thing that you notice when it’s running. We know that they have a point, however when we called to make an appointment with our Heating and A/C company to come and fix the loud furnace, we were a little bit upset. We had to confess that we just don’t want the furnace to be quieter. We’d be good with it if it stayed this loud every winter.
