Sealing the cold spots in our house

There are cold spots in our house now and we are going to have to figure out what we are going to do about.

Neither my husband nor I know anything at all about heating and cooling systems, and so we have basically just been meandering around trying to figure out where all of these cold spots are coming from in our house, I did a little bit of researching online to try and figure out what the problem was, and this one Heatin and A/C blog that I follow said that cold spots are usually caused by issues within your ventilation ducts.

I thought that that was an interesting bit of information, since I was thinking that the cold spots were caused by other issues likr a problem with the gas furnace system itself. It turns out that the gas furnace at our house was really working just fine, but we were just having issues with their ventilation ducts. But I am getting ahead of myself. After I had done that bit of research, I decided that we would call up our local heating and cooling supplier and have them come out to check out our ventilation system for us. The two of us did not have any of the tools needed to decide whether or not this was entirely the problem, so we knew that we needed a professional. After the heating and ACcontractor came out to the house, it did not take him long at all to figure out that the problem was indeed, our ventilation ducts! Some of our ductwork sealing was not really working well and we had some holes and broken places where the heating was escaping into non- inhabited areas of the beach house in the attic.
