My partner and I have been battling with our child about the thermostat settings plus it’s been so extremely stressful.
Our child begged to make the home on the hour floor his bedroom, plus my partner plus I continuously told him no! Both of us didn’t have a problem with him using the home as his bedroom because the space was rarely used in the first place, however we knew that he would be uncomfortable, but the heat in our house naturally rose up there, which is why we never used the home space to begin with; During the summer time months, our child would suffocate up there plus there was nothing we could do about it! He pushed plus pushed plus we finally told him that he could make the home his bedroom, however it would be hot, then everything was in order, until he began decreasing the thermostat settings extremely.
He would lower the temperature by 10 degrees sometimes, which not only affected the other parts of the house, however it was costing a fortune! No matter what we did, our child would change the thermostat settings plus it was boosting our weekly utility bills, when my partner plus I realized that our child wasn’t going to provide up his bedroom in the loft, we decided to try something different for wonce. Both of us didn’t mind him using the space because similar to what I mentioned before, it never got used, and instead of connecting to the central HVAC system, we decided to install a ductless mini split unit. It would run off of electricity plus it was only responsible for cooling that area, which made it extremely efficient!
