As my little ones get older, they become more responsible and they make a lot more of their decisions; I do all I can not to get involved in their personal choices unless it’s absolutely necessary, and the other week, I arrived home to find a large box resting on our doorstep and I learn that it was for our child. I couldn’t think of anything that our kid possibly needed that was that massive, however he was excited about it when he got home. I asked him what he was looking for, and he told me that it was a portable cooling system. I didn’t think I heard his right because a cooling system seemed to be an unusual appliance for our teenage kid to be buying. I try not to micromanage what he spends his money on, but it was untypical because I had never heard him complain about the temperature before. I asked him why he ordered a portable cooling unit and he provided me with an even more odd answer, and according to her, whenever he had sleepovers with his friends, they were constantly whining and moaning about the temperature of the house. I didn’t think there was anything wrong with the temperature, but his friends seemed to think so. My kid knew better than to touch the temperature control settings, so he had to get to thinking outside of the box. This is what led him to buying a portable cooling system. I hate that he spent his money on this to please his friends, but I was cheerful that he took the responsibility upon herself and he didn’t change the temperature control settings.
