I had planned a romantic getaway for our anniversary.
- I had reservations made at a newly renovated hotel that was within walking distance of the beach.
There was a restaurant in the hotel my husband had been dying to try, and I had reservations., I had our bags packed and in the car when he got home. We were almost at the hotel when I saw a smile of recognition on his face. This was the same hotel we had gone to on our honeymoon. After riding in a car with the thermostat at sixty for the last three hours, the seventy-five degree lobby gave me a shiver. The further we walked, the shivers turned into perspiration, and I was having a difficult time breathing because of the humidity. I asked if there was a problem with the air conditioning, since it was warm and the humidity was dreadful. I was told the only place where the AC was working was in the restaurants. After lunch, we headed to the boardwalk to check out the scenery. It was so hot outside that we ended up in another hotel, enjoying the air conditioning. It was time to go back to our hotel and get ready for dinner, and I hoped they had the AC repaired, but it wasn’t to be. My husband and I didn’t unpack and right after dinner, we headed home. They said the AC was going to be down for the rest of the night and all I wanted to do was go home. They gave us all of my money back and we got a free two-night stay for anytime we wanted to return.
