My partner worked out of state, and she was gone for two weeks at a time. Since we had youngsters, I didn’t want to uproot them from their school and friends, so she got an new home in the city where she was working. Every weekend, I would head to the city to spend time with my partner, and once a week, she would come new home to be with the youngsters. It was difficult, but we made it work until last week. I got to her new home and the a/c was broken. It was so uncomfortable that we ended up going to a hotel for the night. I asked if the property owner was repairing the a/c and she said no 1 could get in touch with him. I was truly exasperated because we could not afford a hotel for all of us for the numerous-day weekend, and we could not stay in the apartment. The youngsters were fourteen and fifteen, and complaining was their favorite thing to do! Not having a/c made them even more agitated, which I didn’t blame them for. Even my partner and I were agitated. She promised that by the end of the week, either the A/C would be repaired or she would be in a bizarre apartment. The two of us splurged and spent the numerous-day weekend at a resort hotel. The youngsters had a swimming pool and a game room to lounge in and we had a/c. I was so ecstatic we could make this work, because I truly missed my partner, but the a/c is a must.
