The Compressor Stopped Working

Last week, I called the HVAC company to schedule my biannual HVAC tune up.

The summer season is coming to a close and it’s time for me to have my furnace looked at before I turn it on for the season. I felt good about scheduling my HVAC tune up so early in the season because it meant I didn’t have to worry about competing with other homeowners for a spot. Unfortunately, a day after I made the appointment, my AC system stopped working and I had to contact the HVAC company again. This time, I told them about my AC failure and that I desperately needed to be seen earlier. Since it was after their normal business hours, they sent an HVAC professional to my house the following morning. It was the first appointment of the day and I was grateful for it. My house was hot without AC and I hardly slept. I did not know why my AC system wasn’t working, but I knew it needed to be fixed right away. I couldn’t take the heat. The HVAC professional was trained to find the issue and I was hoping it wasn’t something too severe. According to him, there were some issues with my compressor unit. This didn’t sound good, but he assured me that it wasn’t the worst case scenario. My compressor unit wasn’t working but it wasn’t something to panic about. My compressor unit was still within warranty and I could have the entire thing replaced for free.
