Chaperoning the modern cooling techs

The two of us headed to a customer’s home one day for a/c repair.

I had a team of several cooling techs with me; some were novices, while the rest had experience laboring on cooling products. The purchaser had called the a/c company complaining that his Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C device had been acting up for a week. He explained that he had noticed decreased air quality and comfort. There were also weird noises coming from the a/c install. When we got there and assessed the system, we found that one major area had a problem. The device was quite outdated and soon needed replacement. As the senior a/c expert, I recommended that the purchaser consider replacing the system. The indoor air cleaning proposal was OK, however we needed to replace the air filter. After explaining a few things to the homeowner, he decided on a central a/c unit. The type of device was usually quiet and produced minimal noise. He would also need to keep up with a/c maintenance to ensure the long life span of the equipment. With regular a/c tune-up, the proposal would constantly be running optimally, and the cost will be small in case of a breakdown. The homeowner asked if he had a job to play in caring for the quality a/c unit, and I gave him a few tips he could implement. However, he would have to leave the rest to the cooling workman. It was an excellent opportunity for the novices to learn about the device and how to handle homeowners and other buyers. Occasionally I found teaching more exhausting than the technical bit of the work because on such days; I went home more exhausted than on the other days.
