I wasn’t born into a religious family. In fact, not once in my upbringing did I go to church or any other place of worship. My parents weren’t believers, and they never wanted to push me into anything I didn’t want to do. It’s during my years in college that I got to learn about God and experience christianity. My roommate was a believer and always invited me to go to church with her. It took time for me to accept her invitation, but eventually I joined her and loved the entire experience. Now, I go to a local church in the town I moved to after college. It’s not a big congregation, but it’s an amazing place. The other day, we were having issues with the commercial HVAC system that cools and warms the church. This heating and cooling unit was on its last leg and always required repairs which weren’t cheap. One hot Sunday morning, the HVAC system failed and the church became unbearably hot. Our pastor explained that he was yet to raise the full amount to purchase a new commercial HVAC system for the church. We normally do donations when there’s a need in the church. So, I heard someone agreed to write a check for the full amount that was needed to purchase and install a new commercial HVAC system. The whole thing took a week to complete, and by the next Sunday, we were enjoying time at church with a new heating and cooling system. It’s great when the community comes together to ensure the local church remains functional.
