I don’t think you will ever hear my name when it comes to those who make really sound decisions.
In fact, I can really be pretty stupid some of the time.
But this time I actually made a really good call when it came to the HVAC equipment. We are part of the HVAC service plan offered by our HVAC company here locally. It’s a great program that ensures HVAC equipment is serviced and maintained each season by an HVAC technician. And there are other things like coupons for services. But if there was to be an HVAC breakdown, all I’d have to pay for would be the cost of the parts. I guess this may have been in the back of my mind when I came home to no air conditioning one day this past summer. I walked in after work and it was immediately apparent there was no HVAC cooling going on. The thermostat had power and there were no tripped breakers. I know the HVAC equipment itself was running. But there was no cooling coming from the air ducts. I thought it might be a situation where it was a refrigerant recharge. But then I kind of stopped myself because I know that there was some issue with the sort of refrigerants that can be purchased in the US these days. But I talked myself into looking online to see if I could diagnose the problem and fix it myself. It didn’t take 2 minutes before I realized it would be stupid for me to do anything but pick up the phone and call an HVAC professional. And that’s exactly what I did and that’s exactly why my HVAC equipment is running just fine now.
