I knew the minute my wife walked inside the central air conditioning of our home that there was something up.
She has a way of sort of looking at me with her head bowed a bit.
This is a telltale sign that she has something difficult to discuss with me. The good thing about that look is I generally know that nobody’s dead or something tragic has happened. In those instances my wife is usually very emotional. So when I get that sort of look where she’s kind of looking down but looking at me at the same time, I know she needs to have a conversation. And this conversation was a tough one. My wife had been informed inside the executive conference room with its own thermostat that she was being transferred. Of course, they presented it as though this was a request when in fact it was not. My wife had been given a couple of days to figure out just what she wanted to do. To me, it was pretty clear that she wanted to take this new position that came with relocation. But we had just put down roots and bought this house. We’d also done renovations which included getting the latest in HVAC technology. I work from home so I can work wherever she is but I really didn’t want to leave that house. At least all the renovations and the best residential HVAC I’ve ever had made it easy to sell that house quickly. But I’ll be missing that house and the community that we became a part of. However, I’m serious about being a partner. And partners support partners. So maybe there will be some more great quality heating and air in my future.
