Moving into a new part has consistently been a hard thing for me. I don’t get along well people, because I am undoubtedly shy. I was considering talking to one of my neighbors to see where was the best place to shop, & who do I call for Heating, Ventilation & A/C service. It seemed like whenever I stopped in front of a home where there were people outside, they would get up & go inside. I was in tears one afternoon, because my Heating, Ventilation & A/C system wasn’t working. I wasn’t who I could call to get the Heating, Ventilation & A/C system checked, & I still hadn’t talked to anyone in the neighborhood. I worked from home, since I was a writer, so there was no one to interface with. I called my brother & told his I was lonely & still hadn’t met anyone in the neighborhood! Four hours later, my brother was knocking on my door. She drove three hundred miles to come & save me. She took me outside & my friend and I walked up & down the sidewalk. She smiled a couple of people & stopped to talk to them. The one guy smiled & said it was nice to meet us. She told him I had lived there two months, & it surprised him. The next afternoon, I had several people stopping by to welcome me into the neighborhood! One man told me that if I needed a fantastic Heating, Ventilation & A/C business, his child worked for the local Heating, Ventilation & A/C company. She brought one of his corporation cards with her. My brother spent three afternoons with me & read over my newest manuscript. She said it was my best work yet, & told me it was time for his to go home.
