What is the average lifespan for a sofa?

I’ve had my sofa for almost 12 years now, and I undoubtedly care about it. The sofa is a dark brown, partial leather couch that is charming and so comfortable… I also have an oversized leather chair that is my single fave piece of furniture in my house. The oversized leather chair wasn’t part of the original sofa set, however it matched so well that I decided that I had to get it as well; At the time I bought the dining room sofas and chair, I was at the beginning of my project. In fact, aside from my car, the sofas and chair were the first major purchase that I made in my adult life after I was on the road to financial security; Well, over the last 10 or so years, the oversized leather chair has really lost its luster; Sadly, I used it so much that the leather has cracks in it! Over the years, I tried to repair the leather sofa by using leather repair products that I found on the internet, then some of them worked a little bit, however most of them were a disaster. I should’ve contacted a reupholstering repair shop and had them perform the work. But, I didn’t, and now the chair is beyond repair. This means that I will need to get rid of it soon, and fortunately, my sofas are still in terrific condition. There is little wear and tear, and the leather portion has no cracks nor shows much sign of deterioration. Typically, sofas last for 7 to 20 years and with nice care, I suppose that I will have my sofas for another 10 years. I just hope that I can find a new oversized leather chair that matches my sofas.
