My best friend was telling me he needed a new furnace for his boat.
- He spent weeks on the ocean, both winter and summer, as long as the weather was nice.
He had sleeping quarters for four, and two full bathrooms. Without the furnace and air conditioning, he said he would never get any sleep. Right after winter ended, he ordered his new furnace. I wanted to know why he would order the furnace so early. According to him, it took almost three months to get his last furnace. It had to be ordered so it would fit in the furnace area. Once the furnace arrived, he would drive the boat back to the marina where the mechanic was, and he would install the furnace. I think he had more fun driving back and forth to the marina, because it was something he often talked about. He asked me to go with him when they called to say the furnace was in, and I asked my wife. She told me to have fun. I think she was happy to have the house to herself for a long weekend. At least that’s what I thought, until my friend asked if my wife wanted to go along. His wife decided to go, and he wanted her to have some company so he could get some time away from her, and she liked my wife. My wife asked if the air conditioning was working, and all I could do was laugh. She knew the furnace was broken, and didn’t want to be on the water without air conditioning.
