When my friend invited me on a camping trip I said yes.
After all, I hadn’t been camping in a few years.
I used to love camping but I just hadn’t gone in a long time. So as the date of the camping trip approached I got all my gear together and made sure everything was in good condition. I especially made sure that my little camp space heater was still working because I saw that the temperature was going to drop steeply at night during the camping trip. Unfortunately, I couldn’t use the little space heater because this was a primitive campground and there was no electricity at the campsites. That first night in the tent I was freezing cold without heat. It didn’t help that I had accidentally brought a child’s sleeping bag instead of my big, heavy sleeping bag either. Needless to say, I didn’t get any sleep. While laying away at night with no heat I had made up my mind that I would go back home first thing in the morning. However, when I told my friend this he suggested that we rent a cabin instead. This turned out to be a great idea. The cabins have gas heaters and they are very warm and comfortable. Of course, the gas heater wasn’t on when we first entered the cabin but once we turned it on it warmed up the cabin very quickly. I finally felt less grumpy and I actually took a nap near the heater. When I woke up, I was ready for some hiking and camping fun.
