HVAC Tips for All

People are difficult; that’s a fact. Me and the people I do theater class with are trying to organize an end-of-course gathering in June. One of my classmates offered her house for the gathering, but when she made it clear that they wouldn’t be allowed to smoke in her house, others suggested going to the beach. However, some people voted against the gathering at the beach. Now they are discussing going to a climate-controlled restaurant with a cheap menu. Now I just don’t understand why people are so fussy and difficult. The idea is to share some time together, so it doesn’t matter where we gather as long as it’s in a place with a cooling system. The classmate who offered her house, who’s also a friend of mine, has a very big place with air conditioning, and I was fine doing it at her place. Why isn’t everyone happy with that? Beats me… Anyway, I have to write some HVAC stories today before I head off to the beach and meet my bandmate. We are going to hang out at the pier for a while and then play near some of the local businesses in town in hopes of getting weekly gigs. We are going strong with our music now; we have business cards, new songs, and promotional videos. We’ve even gotten support from the local cooling supplier, who is helping us with filming and editing our music. A local contractor has already offered us some gigs to play at a ski resort in the mountains this winter in cozy clubs with awesome fireplaces.

I’m almost done with work for the day, so I can soon start practicing the new songs my bandmate and I are composing.

• After a dry spell, my bandmate and I are being very prolific with our songwriting.

I guess we are motivated by the fact that summer is just around the corner and we want to get gigs at some of the local businesses. For that, we need new and exciting material to promote ourselves. We are not committed to playing at least three times a week in our spot by the church. That spot is great because we don’t have trouble with the cops, and the priest is a fan of our music, so he doesn’t mind us playing there. Today I have to reach out to a local heating and cooling contractor for guidance because we’ve been having chilly drafts make their way through the old ductwork, causing uneven temperatures throughout the house. Hopefully, the heating technician will be able to solve the issue. I have already discussed with my partner that we need to get an annual maintenance plan in order to avoid these sorts of problems with our HVAC system. My partner and I are trying to save up for an RV, so we can travel in climate controlled comfort during the summer. Hopefully, my bandmate, who’s making a lot of money working for a heating and cooling contractor, will chip in to make our dream possible. We would then travel together all around the country playing music and having the time of our lives.

Today is Thursday, which means I’m staying in the city to do my work online, attend language courses, and play soccer with my friends.

My favorite thing about living in the city is soccer.

I was lucky to find a soccer group on the internet. The organizer is very friendly and does a good job of getting everybody together and coordinating the event. It used to be free, but now we have to pay $2 for the court fees. We play on an indoor court, which is lucky since it’s raining today. I haven’t played in like two weeks because I injured my foot, so I’m looking forward to this afternoon’s match more than usual. My partner wants to get radiant floor heating for the winter, so I need to search online and find some good offers. While I’m doing my online shopping, I might also take the opportunity to get an electric shaver to make my beard look tidier, as well as look at HEPA filters to improve our indoor air quality. I feel like it’s winter again since the temperature has dropped considerably during the last few days. I prefer the cold weather to the hot weather, and now I have an excuse to use the electric fireplace, which creates a cozy atmosphere. I have to be careful with my energy consumption, though, because my partner and I have agreed to save money for an RV with climate control, which is very expensive. I have to remember to call my buddy to see when he wants to play music in town and also ask him for some energy saving tips, something he’s an expert in.

Usually, I enjoy listening to jazz music while I work.

However, since it’s raining today, I’d rather listen to the rain.

I find the sound of the rain so soothing that sometimes I play rain sound effects on my phone to help me relax and fall asleep. Due to rain, my girlfriend, who works as an environmental educator and usually takes kids on outdoor excursions, has a day off. I initially thought we would spend the morning together, but she informed me that she had plans to meet with her friends for circus training. As for me, I have to get on with my work for the HVAC company. The weather has taken a turn, and now it’s chilly outside, unlike a few days ago when it was hot. This makes me contemplate whether to turn on the central heating. However, I don’t think it’s necessary; I like to have the windows open to ventilate the house, so using the heating system would be a waste of energy. If I can concentrate enough on my work, I should be able to get it done in an hour, provided I’m free of external distractions. To my surprise, my girlfriend had called the cooling tech to come over this morning. When the doorbell rang, I could feel my irritation and anger building up. I opened the door to let him in with a long face. He informed me that he needed to perform some ductwork sealing. Although I didn’t fully understand what that meant, I allowed him to get on with it. Trying to focus on my writing became challenging as he was making a heck of a racket. However, once he finished and left, I was able to regain my concentration and finally complete my HVAC tech stories.

My stomach is starting to rumble, signaling that it is soon time to dump some food in it. After this story, I will prepare a super healthy breakfast that will give me energy for the rest of the morning. Last night, my bandmate and I stayed up late playing music in the town center, and since I haven’t had enough sleep, I’m feeling a little rough today. But this is easily solved with a nap after lunch and a nice cup of tea and chocolate when I wake up. This will provide me with enough energy to go to language class and then play soccer at the local air conditioned sports center. I might have to use public transportation since it’s raining today. Usually I would rather avoid public transport unless I don’t have a choice, since they don’t have proper HVAC systems and are packed with people. Today is cool, though, so climate control won’t be an issue. This morning I have an appointment with my cooling provider to service my a/c unit for the summer. The heat is going to be intense here where I live, and I must be prepared to deal with it. I also noticed that my indoor air quality has diminished, so I will also talk to them about getting whole home air purification. If I have some spare time after that and before lunch, I may practice some songs I’m learning. My bandmate and I are coming up with new songs to play at local businesses this summer.
