Our energy bills went down this winter, by almost 40%, our furnace didn’t run as long, and our home was warmer than it had been in years

We knew our roof was getting old. We had been in the house for fifteen years, but the house was almost 35 years old. We suspected it hadn’t been replaced in 35 years. When the roofers showed up, they did an inspection of the roof and told us the roof needed replaced, but so did the skylight. There were water tracks in the skylight, and he showed us where the water was coming in around the trim. He told us that by replacing the roof and skylight, we would also save money on our HVAC usage. If there was water coming in through the skylight, there had to be heat loss in the same area. Since we called the roofers because of a leak in the attic, we were probably losing heat in the attic. It wasn’t just the leak in the roof and skylight where we were losing heat, but the insulation was shot. We knew we couldn’t afford to lose heat through a faulty roof and skylight. After $15,000 for a new roof and skylight, we realized how right the roofers were. Our energy bills went down this winter, by almost 40%, our furnace didn’t run as long, and our home was warmer than it had been in years. I thought the roofers were just looking to add as much as they could to their coffers, and I am sure I owe them an apology. Our roof was just too old to stop the heat from escaping our house. I’m glad we could have the roof repaired and save heating at the same time.

Lately, almost every single day has been really hot.

This is a bit unusual, because we usually experience more mild summers.

But anyways, I wasn’t having to worry that much about the heated summers, because I had one thing on my mind, and that was HVAC equipment. The A/C equipment that I keep thinking of is the air conditioning machine and heater that I am having installed today. The HVAC appointment kept getting delayed due to various reasons, but finally, today is the day I get my new furnace and cooling device. And I couldn’t be any more excited to embrace the cold air conditioning that is going to come with it, and the heating for the winter time cold. The heating and cooling worker arrived a few hours later, and with him came an entire HVAC team. I didn’t expect the entire heating and air conditioning to come to my home, I guess the cooling installation was going to be bigger than I thought. The A/C worker told me it was going to take several hours. This was surprising, because I didn’t realize the heat and A/C installations take so long. But I found some other things to do with my time while they worked away installing the new heating and cooling equipment. Before I knew, the entire team was already done, and I could begin enjoying my new heating and cooling equipment. The new HVAC technology is fantastic, and I am so happy to have such great heating and cooling machines.

The air conditioning specialist moved the cooling van out of my driveway, and I was finally able to leave

I was leaving earlier than usual, but I guess it was better to leave earlier than later. I was just paid today, and I planned on going to my favorite restaurant. If I had it my way, I would go all of the time, but their food prices prevent me from doing so. Anyways, I went to back out of my garage, only to see there was already a car in my driveway. Or to be specific, a HVAC van. I was confused for a second. Did I call for heating and cooling services? And even if I did, where was the air conditioning worker? But no, looking over to my left, I saw that my neighbor was throwing out their old central HVAC, and was having the cooling specialist take it away. This was annoying, I am sure the cooling specialist assumed this house was empty, and he parked here because of that, but he was still in my way. I went and told my neighbor, who then told the A/C worker. The air conditioning specialist moved the cooling van out of my driveway, and I was finally able to leave. I guess it is a good thing that I got an early start to leaving, otherwise I would be late arriving at my favorite restaurant, thanks to the cooling professional. I arrived and ordered my favorite, a barbeque chicken sandwich with a side of fries. After having my tasty meal, and enjoying the ice cold A/C provided by the restaurant, I took some leftovers with me and went home.

But thankfully, the weather was cool and cloudy, and so my dad rolled down the windows, and the cool air helped cool both of us down

Every day for the past few days, I have been driving with my dad in his truck. We have been doing deliveries to different businesses as an extra way to make money. I have always loved long drives, because it gives me plenty of time to relax and think about various things in my life. About an hour in one of our usual drives, I noticed the car felt pretty heated. I asked my dad if he could turn on the air conditioning, but my dad was already reaching for the knob. When he went to turn on the A/C though, the cooling air that I was expecting never came. Instead, warm air came out of the A/C vents, which did not help cool either of us down, and definitely not what I was hoping for. My dad sighed and told me he would have to have the truck’s cooling looked at, but that it was probably going to be another few days. Usually this would be a nightmare because we live in a very heated area, where the temperatures are usually in the 90s. But thankfully, the weather was cool and cloudy, and so my dad rolled down the windows, and the cool air helped cool both of us down. The nice breeze was enough to cool us down for now, and for the next couple of days it was cool and cloudy like that. I just hope my dad gets the A/C fixed soon, because I know the sunny and hot weather is going to return soon.

I recently was blessed to get a very large home, the home of my dreams! It was something I spent a good amount of my time dreaming about when I was young, and after many, many years of hard work, I can finally say that I am there.

A large yard, a personal pool and screened in porch and the home is huge! Yes, there were a few repairs needing to be done within the home, but still, I am just so happy that I finally achieved my lifelong dream. One of the repairs that needed to be done is more of an upgrade. The previous owner’s had a central air conditioning machine that was not only old, but not big enough for the home. I am honestly surprised that the cooling device worked for as long as it did, because usually when the cooling system is too small for the home, it puts a lot of strain on the heating and air conditioning device to work harder and work longer, and so the lifespan usually isn’t as long. Regardless, I was actually having a heating and air conditioning technician coming out today to perform a HVAC installation! The new air conditioning device I chose was brand new A/C equipment, with a high SEER rating. I was super excited to have it installed, but I knew it was going to take several hours before it was finished.
