Eleven ductless mini split units

This flat is turning into a buddhist monastery.

  • We just got our bamboo wind chimes, which fits in well with our buddha statue, candles, yoga mat, and incense.

We also have the three chill cats walking around the flat and buddhist flutes playing on the speaker in the background. We have bamboo wood floors throughout and a nice spacious lounge area where you can relax on the sofa while petting the cats. I have some djembe drums and a ukulele to top off the musical instruments for The Monastery and the place just vibrates with a slow relaxed energy. We run the climate control system all the time to keep the air quality good in this place and also to keep the noise out from any people outside who may be loud or partying. It is a pretty quiet town but there are a few bars within earshot, so keeping the windows closed keeps that noise outside. We go to sleep with the a/c on 67F so that our bodies relax better without tossing and turning from not having any air conditioning at all. Sleep is a big priority in The Monastery and we take it seriously and get to bed early each night so that our bodies get proper rest and relaxation. We have HEPA filters in the stove exhaust so that when we cook our healthy natural food the air quality doesn’t get lowered from particles in the cooked food. We drink filtered water with lemon to keep our bodies alkalized so that we don’t get too much acidity. Life in The Monastery is a good thing!

In pain but in climate control too

Disclaimer: This story will have no complaining whatsoever. I really can’t stand when people complain and, oh wait, I’m complaining. Ahem. So it is a really nice and sunny day out today and I am going to get my work done happily whilst listening to my favorite relaxing flute music. I am in pain today from playing ball yesterday but I am feeling good about all of the fun we had and connections we made. You really connect with people more deeply when playing sports or doing some kind of performing arts together, as I’ve done both in air conditioned clubs in the big city and on beaches all over the world. I’ve made so many friends from sports and the arts and am grateful I have had the chance to do both, which really doesn’t matter how great you became in either venture. I’ve met a lot of good people at the HVAC business and I have that job to thank as well for connecting me with all of the great HVAC workers and customers. I am now going to focus more on music, as that is something I can do till the end of my life basically. I would love to do shows in heated ski resorts and air conditioned chiringuitos on the beaches of the world. I think this is possible and as long as I keep playing we are heading in the right direction with this band thing we got. We both are HVAC techs and we work for this local contractor, but I think in two years it will be only music full time.

So happy the heating tech filmed us

I’m so happy to have a really great volleyball captured on camera forever.

I have my comedy shows filmed, and my music shows recorded, but I haven’t had any great volleyball clips, which is a sport I’ve been playing for 31 years now.

These are all the things I love doing, and to grab the volleyball and have it on film now is icing on the cake to a fun life so far. It is nice to watch these things to remind yourself who you are and what you love doing. I don’t have many more years repairing HVAC equipment for the heating supplier I work for, and I don’t want to spend it in pain so I will have to leave volleyball soon as well. I think I can keep playing music for the rest of my life, and hopefully I have 30 years more to go but you just don’t know do ya? The HEPA filter lady that worked with me at the local business just died suddenly without warning, telling me how fragile life really is and how I need to start appreciating the moments in life more. Even if I do live 30 more years, my days of being younger and athletic like this are wearing thin. My HVAC rep dad just left me like that not too long ago, leaving his whole HVAC systems company to us kids soon. I will always remember him and I’ll use his loss to tell me to live life and be courageous because it isn’t going to go on forever. RIP pops.

Time for heating maintenance inside

I feel like I was hit by a train last night, as my elbow, lower back, and knees are all sore.

We had some really crazy plays yesterday with the volleyball matches and even got the best play of the year on film somehow.

My buddies had a camera filming from a tripod when it happened, and I am hoping the video is clear and you can see all of the action. I think we can see it, and I can’t wait to watch the video again to see what we did. It was a long rally, heating up from the very beginning, and not cooling down until 45 seconds later when we won the point. We ultimately won that game too, and it was the highlight of my day as we won that game together in style and on camera. My HVAC tech teammate is editing the video today in his air conditioned studio, where I am sure he will make the magic happen with his editing skills. Then I can have the video as a memory of my days of ballin’ in the sand with my friends. The local business has us over for free drinks because we entertain the crowds there in the climate controlled beach bar. So needless to say, today I am not feeling so good as far as my body is concerned. I’ll do a lot of hot yoga in my studio with heated floors and a small space heater. Then I will train a client in yoga and stretch it out even more to help with the healing process.

My houseplants and my air con system

My passion for greenery is on full display in my office, which I adorned with succulents, ferns, and other exotic houseplants.

I enjoyed the plants in my loft for their aesthetic value, but also for the vital role they played in sustaining a pleasant and healthy atmosphere.

The Heating and Air Conditioning business I hired to help me service my apartment’s air quality also educated me on the value of having some plants around. Because of my severe sensitivity to dust and pollen, the Heating and Air Conditioning specialist advocated that I bring some plants into the house. I was initially skeptical, as the plants seemed to have a legitimately small effect. Despite my initial reluctance, I gave window gardening a shot and the rapid transformation surprised me. I had fewer allergic reactions and less need to use my inhaler for asthma after having them. The air quality in my loft has also improved. As my confidence increased as a result of the success, I began expanding my plant collection. Both the kitchen and the powder room now feature exotic plants that I snagged, and on my windowsill I even have a small herb garden. The plants in my loft served a dual purpose; they purified the air and lifted my spirits. I enjoyed giving them care and watching them grow. I was so cheerful about the Heating and Air Conditioning specialist’s expertise that I started telling others about plants, and if they need a heating and Air Conditioning expert I knew the guy to get a hold of. Due to my interest in plants and desire to give back to the community, I now started volunteering at the local garden store.
