HVAC Tips for All

Working on the farm is strenuous without AC during the summer, that’s for sure. We care about the work at this little family owned farm, however it’s not the easiest task that we have ever had, that is for sure. It’s truly strenuous because we get extremely hot temperatures around here during this summer. If you have ever worked outside on a farm during the summer, then you know how dusty, dirty and boiling it can be. Of course, there is nowhere out there on the farm that has AC at all, so we are boiling from the time that the sunlight comes up until we get finished with work at the end of the day. You have no idea how gleeful we are to get into our truck and turn the air conditioning on full blast at the end of the day. We thought about quitting the farm this year because we are already dreading the boiling Summer hot temperatures that are going to happen during the Summer months. We just can’t bring ourselves to quit for some reason, though. We think there’s just something about working outside with the land that we enjoy. Both of us would much rather do that than work in an office someplace at a desk. Even though the office would have central air conditioning, we would still cherish being outside in the fresh air. Last winter, the cold temperatures nearly got to us, though. It’s one thing to be boiling during the Summer with no AC, however it’s a whole different thing when you’re cold outside during the winter

June had no idea that there were different air filters to choose from when she went to the property improvement store last week. She usually doesn’t go to the property improvement store at all. Her hubby usually does all of the things like that around the lake house, but he is traveling for work right now. He’s been so tied up with work for a while now that June has had to take over a lot of the things around the property that she used to not have to do. June has to say that she is not truly pleased about this. She doesn’t like having to work on things around the property at all. They have been having some complications with their heating system lately as June thinks that it is because she needs to change the air filter. The control component unit has a warning light on it that flashes whenever it’s time to change the air filter and it’s been going off for a while now. At first she just tried to ignore it, however now it feels like the indoor quality in their property is not as great as it used to be. June is pretty sure it’s because of the fact that she needs to change the air filter. That’s why she finally just gave up and went to the property improvement store herself to purchase one. June finally found the heating and cooling products aisle, however once she got over there, she could not think that there were so many different kinds of air filters. June actually ended up having to talk to one of the store employees to see which air filter would work for her particular Heating and A/C unit. She had no idea what she was doing.

Andrew wants to build an addition on his property this year, however he knows that his existing Heating and A/C system is not going to work when he puts extra square footage onto the beach house.

It’s one of those things that Andrew has been thinking about doing for a long time, however now it seems like it’s going to be so much more involved than he originally thought it would be.

Andrew actually used to think that it would be an easy thing to just build some extra walls onto the property and throw in some carpet and some paint. After that, he would be done. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case now. He found out that the Heating and A/C system that he currently has in the property is just not going to be efficient enough to handle any extra space that he might build onto the house. The people who Andrew is working with at the Heating and A/C business told him this news and he wasn’t happy about it, to tell you the truth. Andrew was thinking that the project was just going to be easy, straightforward, and sort of luxurious. When he got the news from the Heating and A/C serviceman about the Heating and A/C system, that all changed. Now Andrew is going to have to refigure his budget that he had worked out. He is going to have to save even more money so that he will be able to install a second source of heating and cooling in addition to the beach house. It’s going to cost him a lot more.

The boiler is messing up Fiona’s property and she can’t figure out what to do about it. Fiona has never been a big fan of the boiler, to tell you the truth. She doesn’t think that boilers are the best way to heat a lake house, and she would never have installed a boiler in the property herself if it hadn’t already been here when she moved in. Fiona wasn’t all that jovial about the fact that this was the kind of boiler that was in the lake house when she bought it. However, she didn’t have that much of an option at that point. There weren’t any other lake houses for sale in the area and Fiona needed to find a place right away at that point. Otherwise, she really would have waited until she found a lake house with a high efficiency heating and cooling system instead of a boiler. At least with an electric heater or an oil heater, Fiona would know something about repairing it if she needed to. She doesn’t know a thing about boilers, though. To be honest, Fiona is afraid of them. She thinks that they are frightening because she has heard about them overheating and blowing up in certain cases. She would never have wanted a boiler in her lake house because of that reason if nothing else. Anyway, Fiona is going to have to call the local Heating and A/C business to come and repair the boiler for her. Fiona is not going to mess around with it herself.

The air quality in the doctor’s office was really bad yesterday when I took my son in for a wrist X-ray.

He had a little bit of an accident on his skateboard and we were afraid that his wrist had a fracture in it so we went to the doctor.

I was expecting it to be nice and cool there but something was wrong with their heating and cooling system. There was a commercial HVAC company van parked out in the parking lot when we got there, so that should have been a sign to me that there was going to be an issue inside of the building. The indoor air quality in the lobby seemed to be OK, and the elevator ride was fine on the way up to the doctor’s office. However, once we walked into the doctor’s office waiting area, that’s when I noticed that there was definitely something off with the heating and cooling system. I can always tell when something is wrong with the indoor air quality because I am just very sensitive to that kind of thing. I think that the HVAC system was not working correctly on that floor, or at least in that suite, because the indoor air quality was terrible. It was very stuffy and there was no circulation going on at all. As a matter of fact, I didn’t hear the heating and cooling system come on at all the entire time that we were waiting to see the doctor. Meanwhile, there were HVAC technicians coming and going in the outer doors to the hallway. I saw one of them hauling some tools around to the back doors of the office. There was definitely something going on that day.
