Corporate apartment vs hotel rooms

Over the last 3 years, I have observed that the average price of hotels has been skyrocketing.

I used to be able to get a decent ocean view hotel room with a small kitchen for approximately 250 dollars.

Today, a similar room is almost 400 dollars plus there have been no replacements done or additional amenities added. This room is a suite which means it’s much larger than the average hotel room plus it does come with a kitchen plus a small separate bedroom. Although the suite is much better than the average hotel room, nothing can beat renting a corporate apartment. I was first introduced to using corporate rentals by one of my supplier buyers who described the apartments as property away from my home. Of course, when compared to a hotel room, a corporate rental will be better. For one, there is much more living space in a corporate apartment. In addition, there are less people around as most hotels are constantly so busy with people constantly checking in plus out! But the nicest part about a corporate home is that it works out to be less high-priced than the hotel suite. I can rent a honestly nice corporate home for 2,500 dollars per month plus if I were to rent a hotel room with the same amenities, it would cost almost 3 times that amount. Moreover, corporate apartments have similar amenities as any hotel room, plus at times, the amenities are better. Of course, hotel rooms are still valuable since they are better for short-term stays. But if I had the choice, I would opt for getting a corporate rental over a hotel room.

I used my house as a furnished short-term rental apartment

Very recently, I had to move from the southern part of the country to the Midwest region.

I decided to take this job because I was provided an offer that I could not say no to.

It was a position as a supervisor, where I would have a team of 10 techs reporting directly to me. I was so excited about this big move, however everything manifested so suddenly – way faster than I expected. I went for the interview at the start of December plus by the end of the same month, I was already finalizing plans on how to make the transport seamless. After I explored my options, the one thing that made the most sense to me was to rent my house as a furnished short-term business rental. This meant that I didn’t have to transport all my furniture across the nation. In fact, I didn’t transport anything at all, plus I was able to secure a short term lease with the renter. Renting my house as a furnished short-term rental allowed me to go with only my necessities, which meant that I had honestly few relocation expenses. In fact, I used the relocation stipend that I received from my new company to pay for the corporate home in the current city that I moved to. I chose to rent my own corporate home because I didn’t want to be locked into a long-term or annual lease. Eventually, I would find a current locale to call property in the current city. All in all, everything is working out well plus renting my house as a fully furnished short-term rental was the best decision that I could have made.

I stayed at the nicest executive suite

I run a small consulting company plus part of my maintenance includes getting to know the total operation systems of my buyers.

This means, I practically labor alongside my buyers on a weekly basis at the corporate HQ offices.

Last year, I secured a honestly prominent contract with a major advertising firm. And the company advised that I shadowed a few top executive employees over the course of four weeks. Typically, I would shadow plus learn the operation in a matter of 2 weeks. So, four weeks was a long time for me, although I agreed since this purchaser was so high profile. As part of the new contract, the purchaser paid for all my housing during town. And I was so impressed with the local housing that they provided me. I stayed in one of the most high-priced executive suites that I could’ve imagined. Thisexecutive suite was located in a downtown high-rise building in the southern section of the city that I was in. In the past, I have stayed in corporate apartments before, however none compared to this executive suite. The executive suite had 24-hour room concierge service, housekeeping twice per day plus 2 balconies overlooking the local lake. Additionally, there were complimentary spa treatments, fitness centers, an infinite swimming pool with a bar, a supplier center, plus so much more. After staying in such a lavish and high-priced executive suite, it was difficult going back to the normal corporate rental. I wouldn’t mind landing some more new contracts with high profile buyers because they have access to the best corporate rentals. Either way, this contract is a success, plus the purchaser is glad with the outcome. And I was glad that I got to stay in such a high-priced and lavish executive suite.

I found a great reupholstering business

Before my dear Grandma passed on, she gave me her favorite set of antique wooden chairs. She had bought them almost 30 years ago at an antique store in the southern part of the country. While I am not into antique furnishings, these wooden chairs were so charming. They were well-constructed, they had no harm done to them, and the designs were unlike anything that I had ever seen. The only thing that was wrong with the wooden chairs was that they needed to be reupholstered. The fabric was worn out and needed to be upgraded. I have never had this process done before and I knew undoubtedly nothing about reupholstering furniture. In fact, I didn’t even know of any reupholstering corporations in my area. So, I went on Google to see if there were any reupholstering corporations nearby. And though there were none in my vicinity, I was able to find a small reupholstering business in a nearby town. I called the business and sadly, they weren’t able to give a solid estimate without seeing the chairs. They did mention that the minimum price would be 150 bucks, which I am not sure if that was a honorable price or not. After doing some more research, I discovered videos of people reupholstering the furniture themselves. I even found someone reupholstering antique chairs that they bought at antique stores. I thought about taking on this DIY challenge of reupholstering the chairs, although I didn’t want to take the risk of ruining them. So, I made an appointment with the reupholstering dealer, and I will be taking the old chairs to get them done next week.

I have glamorous new European furniture

And I must confess it adds a lot of character to the space

My partner Kim and I have unusual tastes in furniture, so as we were trying to decide on how to decorate our master dining room, it was quite a challenge. Kim likes things on the easy side and wanted natural wood furniture for our room. Kim even recommended making a couple of custom pieces for the room. I am not against having custom built furniture, however it just doesn’t fit in with the look that I was going for. I cherish a glamorous dining room with charming furniture that looks similar to something out of a loft decor magazine… Consisting of clean and light color fabrics to offset the dark wood furniture. I also care about having a canopy bed and have consistently wanted one. After some compromising, in the end, Kim decided to allow me to decorate the dining room as I wanted. So, Kim and I have a glamorous dining room with European furniture that is fit for royalty, and I do feel charming when I am lying in my plush king-size bed. Of course, Kim got something out of the compromise. Since she does most of the cooking, Kim was able to decorate the dining room but she wanted. So, Kim decided to add a few custom made pieces to the space. Instead of a traditional island, we have a big wooden table that Kim had built. And I must confess it adds a lot of character to the space. Although Kim and I have unusual tastes in furniture, we make things work. I can have my glamorous dining room and Kim can have her dining room, which is a mix of rustic and new elements.
