I called the HVAC company to get my air conditioning unit cleaned before summer.

When I called, I asked for Henry.

Henry had been our HVAC technician for almost twenty years, and I enjoyed talking to him as well as he did an excellent job. The woman I was talking to asked if I was sure I was calling the right HVAC company. She they didn’t have a Henry there, and didn’t know if there ever was a Henry in the company. She sounded young, so I asked how long she had worked for the company? She told me she had been there for six months, but her dad owned the company. I asked if I could talk to her father? She said he was busy, but if I gave her my name, she would have him call me back. I gave her the name and the phone number. Ten minutes later, I got a phone call from the HVAC company. All I heard was a man laughing and he asked how I was doing. I was sure I was talking to Henry, but the girl said I would be talking to the owner of the HVAC company. He told me it was Henry, and he bought the HVAC company about three years ago. He only went on service calls when it was someone he considered a friend. I congratulated him on the ownership of the HVAC company and apologized for bothering him. He said he would be at the house in an hour. We talked for about an hour when he got there. I asked why his daughter didn’t know he was Henry. He said she was a twit, but then he laughed. His real name was Harmon, but he hated the name and always called himself Henry.

My husband Bob is going away for a hockey tournament trip for a month starting this weekend.

Bob enjoys ice skating however will never be a professional. Bob enjoys playing with his pals & they have even won some small tournaments around the country. I do care about that Bob gets away from time to time. I value the time I have time alone & can spend time with our friends however if Bob is gone for 3 or 4 days, I absolutely start to miss him. This time when Bob goes on his next hockey tournament which is expected to be about a month I will be having a local Heating & A/C worker install radiant heated floors in the house. I made an appointment with this local Heating & A/C supplier a few weeks back. I am pretty gleeful & I am sure our husband will be stoked when he sees it after the hockey tournament. I figured this would be a nice addition to our lakeside apartment since he says his feet are always cold. Makes sense to me since Bob is always in his skates on the ice. So the foyer, residing room, lavatory, kitchen & study room will all be tested. I thought about having the spare study room done as well however Bob and I hardly go in there & it’s rare that anyone comes over. I assume down the line I will entirely get it done. Heated floors throughout the apartment are going to be amazing & I also will be gleeful to set barefoot on them when the Heating & A/C techs complete them. I wish Bob left right now so I can get the radiant heated floors installed although I need to be patient.

Received a phone call today about an issue with an Heating & A/C system. Just another routine Monday job I guess. Something was wrong with the control device or gas furnace or whatever. I’m not entirely stoked because it’s just another day, another dollar & of course, it’s just another gig. I arrived to the home around 11 am Monday & this younger guy named Kim answered the door. Kim was wearing a hoodie with shorts & flip flops & said, “get in, it’s cold out there.” I find it kind of unusual that Kim is wearing shorts & flip flops since he is the a single who said he was cold waking up with a possible natural gas furnace problem. No matter, it’s not our job to judge however to fix the issue so Kim here can live comfortably. So I noticed that the dial natural gas furnace was turned to 73 degrees however the apartment now was at 59 degrees. It was absolutely getting colder in there. So I took a look at the Heating & A/C system & after some labor knew that the whole system was shot & the main reason is that the air filters haven’t been changed in forever. There was too much dust & debris on these that I was surprised the Heating & A/C system didn’t chop sooner. I asked Kim, “when was the last time your air filters were changed?” Kim just shrugged & said he has been here for 5 years & not once they have been changed.” I had to tell Kim that I had awful news & that a current Heating & A/C system will need to be put in & Kim didn’t seem glad at all. Kim had to call his roommate & after a few minutes he asked, ”what’s the cost?”

Mondays, you’ve got to care about them! Actually, you don’t however it’s the first day of the labor week. Today I woke up to a frigid apartment & didn’t understand why our roommate Gus didn’t turn the control device up to 73 degrees care about has done in the past. Gus gets up usually a few minutes or so before I do so he knows that I care about it a little warmer when I wake up. Gus and I both enjoy the coolness of the night to sleep although I need that warmth to get out of bed. I can only assume that Gus forgot since my wonderful friend and I both were up so late last night seeing a film. I told Gus he should’ve gone to bed & my wonderful friend and I could’ve finished it today however no dice, he wanted to finish it. Regardless, now I have to deal with the cool temperatures of the house. So I looked up the dial control device & it was set to 73 degrees. Now I’m a bit confused. I assume he did turn up the heat however it’s absolutely not 73 degrees in this house. The apartment temperature control says 62 degrees & I assume something is wrong. I didn’t entirely want to do this although I always care about excuses to get out of labor so I called the Heating & A/C supplier. They said they did have a little availability in a few minutes & I’ll see a heating worker then. I was stoked they were able to transport so fast on this. I would don’t like to wake up again tomorrow with the same kind of issue. The heating worker showed up a few minutes later & looked at the Heating & A/C system. He said, “that the natural gas furnace is dead & when was the last time the air filters were cleaned?” Disappointed, I asked, “what’s the injury?”

Waking up early today made me sleepy.

It was a late night last night & I have to get motivated for labor now.

I entirely shouldn’t have watched that horror film last night, especially on a Sunday night. I am always sleepy on Mondays & today just feels much worse since I had less sleep now. I reached over for our vape pen & took a drag & it was totally empty. How perfect, absolutely not a wonderful start to our day. I assumed that I still had time for labor so I prepared myself to leave a bit early so that I can buy a current vape pen, then before I left I turned the control device up to seventy degrees for our roommate John. John prefers it to be a bit warm when he gets up. Which is so nice & he does not get up for another minute. The store is 3 blocks down the road, easily within walking distance. I don’t care about wasting gas if I assume I can make a walk in a few minutes. So I did the walk. When I arrived there was a sign on the door & it said, “closed until further notice.” What the hell? This is our locale to go to. They have the vape pens I require. I care deeply about this locale & every time I walked in I felt that wonderful a/c. I would sporadically on the weekends spend minutes there. Now it might be gone for good. This is a blow for sure. As I started to stroll away I saw the owner walking up to the shop & I asked what happened. He said, “no worries, mate, just shutting down for a couple of days until the current Heating & A/C system is fully installed.” I felt relieved although I assume I will have to hurry up & get to my lake apartment to rush to another store before labor now.
