It’s so funny how just some authenticity, appreciation and an update or numerous can turn around an entire group of people, and this is what I’m currently experiencing in our office.

I’ve been with the supplier for nearly 15 years.

That means I’ve seen plenty of upper management come and go. So when this latest set of supervisors got the boot, I was easily expecting the status quo to remain inside the commercial heating, ventilation, and A/C of that office. It seemed as if my pal and I were just recycling the same lame leadership over and over again. But man, did I get a surprise with this newer supervisor. She’s only been with the supplier a short while and she is not all that old either. I am guessing that she is not even in her mid thirties. But wow, what a natural leader this woman is, and it started the first month she got there. Immediately, she began to bring each and every 1 of us into a conference room to get to know us personally and option our brains. This was easily genuinely a first as no other leadership team had even reached out for our collective input. And this was not for show either. The actual next week, not only were there clear official operating procedures in place however there was a new positive vibe. She was appreciative of our effort and even went so far as to update the commercial heating, ventilation, and A/C; my associate and I now have zone controlled heating, ventilation, and A/C for our office so people can group together based on their own central heating and cooling needs. It’s stuff akin to this that actually makes a difference because it’s real. The entire morale has changed and my pal and I are now more accountable to 1 another as well.

She’s only been with the company a short while and she’s not all that old. I’m guessing that she’s not even in her mid thirties. But wow, what a natural leader this person is. And it started the first week she got there. Immediately, she began to bring each and every one of us into a conference room to get to know us personally and pick our brains. This was definitely a first as no other leadership team had even reached out for our collective input. And this was not for show either. The very next week, not only were there clear standard operating procedures in place but there was a new positive vibe. She was appreciative of our effort and even went so far as to upgrade the commercial HVAC. We now have zone controlled HVAC for our office so people can group together based on their own heating and cooling needs. It’s stuff like this that really makes a difference because it’s real. The entire morale has changed and we are now more accountable to one another as well.

When it comes to raising my teenagers or managing my team, I’m not the sort who gets into yelling or screaming! I’ve always hated that approach in addition to finding it completely counter productive. When there is an issue inside the zone controlled heating in addition to air conditioning of the office, I simply address it, but there are absolutely no histrionics or threats. Instead, I state my expectations in addition to the associate in addition to I put together a system of action to respect performance or behavior issues. There’s a bit more at stake when you’re raising teenagers. But I’m still not one to let my emotions take over in addition to getting ugly when the teenagers are being stupid. At the same time, if working together doesn’t solve it, I’m sort of obligated as their father to respect their behavior. And when it came to the way the thermostat was getting jerked around in my house, I was left with no choice however to respect that behavior, and my teenagers seemed to think that the thermostat is open for them to manipulate at all times. I have discussed this with them to explain that the air conditioner costs money in addition to we have a certain thermostat setting discipline. I even went so far as to get out the energy bills to entirely show them what it costs. Apparently, this had zero effect because they completely ignored me; So I simply called the heating company in addition to the air conditioning supplier in addition to that it will not be a complication anymore. My friend and I now have a smart thermostat that controls the heating in addition to cooling in our home based on my parameters. And I have locked the teenagers out of any sort of manual control over the thermostat.
