So Dad is blissful

My Dad called me as well as said that her air conditioner wasn’t working well in her house, and i told her to call up an Heating, Ventilation and A/C dealer because I know nothing about Heating, Ventilation and A/C repair, however still, she insisted that I come as well as take a look. I am a plumper, not an Heating, Ventilation and A/C worker; And yet, most of the family thinks I can do all sorts of cabin maintenance for some reason. Anyway, I went over to my moms house. Sure enough, it was sizzling in there. She had all of her windows open as well as her ceiling fans on, however that didn’t help much because it was sizzling outside too. I turned on the air conditioner then went to see if frosty air came out of the vents. It did not. Then I observed that the vent I was looking at was covered with plastic wrap. I went as well as looked at the other vents in the house. 9 out of 10 of the vents was covered up with plastic wrap. I asked my Dad about it as well as she said that the draft was bad for her birdie. I unwrapped all of the vents except for the ones right next to the cage… Now the cabin is cooling down again. So Dad is blissful. She understands that she can’t cover all of the air conditioner vents if she wants air conditioner! However, now she is telling everyone that I fixed her air conditioner. That is just great. Now more of the family is going to call me for Heating, Ventilation and A/C maintenance as well as I am not going to be able to help unless they too covered up their vents.

My HVAC system has been working so well lately and I’m really proud of how far it’s come. When I became a first time homeowner, I had no idea how much work went into keeping everything working properly. The HVAC system was one large aspect of homeownership that I had no knowledge about and I had to learn quickly! During the first 6 months of home ownership, I was paying outrageous prices for my monthly utility bill and I thought that it was normal. One afternoon though, my dad saw the utility bill laying on my counter and he assured me that I was overpaying. This is when we both realized that my HVAC system needed serious attention. My dad helped me replace the air filter that day and then he contacted a trusted HVAC company to come service my HVAC system. I had no idea what this would entail, but my dad was confident that my HVAC system needed professional attention. The HVAC professional came the following day and examined all the HVAC equipment for over an hour. He moved about the house for over an hour, working on my HVAC system. When he was finished, he said that my HVAC system was severely neglected by the previous owners and it needed a lot of attention. The HVAC professional said that he took extra time to clean, grease, and repair everything. I didn’t think the air filter replacement and the HVAC professional would lower my utility bill drastically, but I was wrong! The following month, my air felt cleaner and my utility bill was half the price!

There’s been something wrong with my furnace for several weeks now, but I’ve tried my best to ignore it. I hate dealing with my HVAC system because I don’t understand it. I feel like I have to contact an HVAC company to come repair something with my HVAC system at least once per year and it’s frustrating. I tried having my HVAC system serviced at least twice per year, but the problems still came and I felt like it didn’t matter if my HVAC system was looked at by an HVAC professional or not. I stopped hiring an HVAC company to come service my HVAC system twice per year in order to save money and I thought it couldn’t make anything worse. However, I’m here to tell you that I made a mistake because not hiring an HVAC company to service my HVAC system made things worse. When I turned my AC system off after the summer and switched on my furnace, something went wrong and I tried to let it go. The air wasn’t coming out warm though the air vents, instead, it was lukewarm. My house wasn’t being heated properly or efficiently and my utility bills were higher than normal. I replaced the air filter and prayed that my furnace would begin running properly again, but it never happened. I knew that I needed to call an HVAC company to come repair it, but I was stubborn. I survived with the mediocre heat and the high energy bills and I plan on doing that until I can’t tolerate it anymore. I don’t want to spend anymore money on my HVAC system and I’m going to avoid it as long as I can.

My friends and family always tell me that I’m really difficult to shop for.

I’ve always known what I like and don’t like and I thought that was easy for other people to see and understand. Unfortunately, that may be the reason that they think I’m challenging to shop for. Whenever my birthday rolls around or the holiday season arrives, my family asks me for a detailed list of what I want. This year, I couldn’t really think of anything that I wanted to ask for. I thought this was going to disappoint my family, but to my surprise, nobody said anything to me about my lack of a list. The closer we got closer to Christmas, the more my concern grew because I didn’t understand why they weren’t hounding me for a list. On Christmas morning though, I opened up the best present from my family and I was shocked by how perfect it was! They bought me a portable air purifier and a dehumidifier! I’m known for always complaining about how humid it gets in my house and my allergies are always terrible during the spring. An air purifier and dehumidifier were the perfect gifts for me and I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t thought of them myself. I set up both the air purifier and dehumidifier as soon as I got home and I’ve been loving them! Together, they make a big difference on my air quality and that makes me happy.

One of my new year resolutions was to invest in a better HVAC system.

My old HVAC system wasn’t that old, but it wasn’t cooling my bedroom as well as I wanted.

I didn’t understand why, but my bedroom felt warmer than the rest of the house and it was difficult to sleep in there. I hired an HVAC technician to come look at my HVAC system and give me an estimate, but I wasn’t expecting what he told me. According to him, my HVAC system wasn’t old enough to need replacing and I wasn’t experiencing any other issues with the heat and air in my house so there was no need to replace it completely. When I told the HVAC technician about the lack of air in my bedroom, he walked around the space and tried to find an issue. The air vents were open and unblocked and there was nothing congesting the ductwork, so he wasn’t sure why the air flow wasn’t better in that room. However, he suggested that I install a ductless mini split system instead of replacing the entire HVAC system. It would save me a lot of money if I installed a ductless mini split system since my HVAC system was technically working fine everywhere else and I wasn’t experiencing high energy bills. The ductless mini split system was sleek, modern, and quiet. There was a remote to control the temperature and it would only cool my bedroom off of electricity. I loved this idea and I’m thankful that I followed through with my resolution!
