Being as old as I am I have seen things come and go, and I have seen things change in technology.

Especially when it comes to heating and air conditioning technology.

I have seen the dawn of central heating and air conditioning systems being put into residential homes and I even remember when gas furnaces were the common way people heated their homes long before central heating was available for residential neighborhoods. It used to be where central heating and air conditioning was only found in commercial buildings in the form of what they call commercial heat and a/c units. But I seen all that move forward and by the early to mid 1990’s, everyone who had an average income was able to afford to have central heating and air conditioning in their home. This was a very strange to see it all happen this way when I had been used to gas furnaces and window air conditioning systems all of my life up until that point. I have seen it all! When I was a kid window air conditioning systems were not even that common in homes. Most people had to use fans and suffer when it got real hot out because even window air conditioning units were pretty expensive. That should tell you how old I am right there! But today’s heating and air conditioning technology I can and will admit is much better than how it was when I was growing up, that is the real truth in my opinion!

I am a big sports fan.

Especially of baseball and football.

However, I would much rather watch the games on TV than go and sit at the stadium in person. The reason for this is because I really can not stand watching outdoor sporting events live. It is because it is either too cold or too hot for me. And all I would wanna do is to be able to sit on my comfortable sofa and enjoy my central heating and air conditioning system unit! I did pay a lot of money for my central heating and air conditioning system, so I really want to get the most out of it that I can. Also those uncomfortable plastic seats they have at the stadiums make my rear end hurt while trying to watch a game. You actually pay for this? It is insane really! I will enjoy a game for free with the great central heating and air conditioning system I have at home. I will also sometimes pay to watch a game on pay per view if it is offered to support the teams that I like. But I will absolutely, positively never go to watch an outdoor sporting event live! I need the temperatures to be perfect and have my heating or air conditioning system providing that and I need the comfort of my couch. This is just the way it is for me. Who wants to sit in the freezing cold or blazing sun for hours? I don’t understand why people do it. And sometimes I don’t even understand how the teams can even play!

I am so happy with the new truck that I recently bought. It has everything I needed plus more. The main thing that really stands out for me is how great the heating and air conditioning is inside the truck. I have never had this great of a heating and air conditioning system before in any kind of vehicle I have owned in the past. It really blew my mind when I tried out the heating system and it was super warm and comfortable. And now I am getting to experience the air conditioning for the first time. Let me tell you the air conditioning in this truck is just as great as the heating, if not better! I have never felt central air conditioning like this inside a truck the same as I had never felt heating as good as this is inside a truck. Now there are other things that are also great about this truck. Like the gas mileage is really good for instance, and it runs very smooth in the snowy weather. It is also very spacious as well. All of these things make for a great truck and when you add the central heating and air conditioning system on top of it that is in here, this truck is just plain old perfect. I would never trade it in for another I do not think. It is exactly what I wanted plus more. I am really enjoying my new truck all together. Especially the heating and the air conditioning.

The last time I had to stay in a hotel while on business there was a problem with the central heating and air conditioning system.

Not in the entire hotel thankfully, but just the heating and cooling unit that was in my room.

It seemed to not be working properly and kept turning on and off no matter what I did with the thermostat. So I had to report this to the front desk and have them give me another room all together. It was a challenge at first because they had to find another room as the hotel was pretty packed. But they finally were able to locate one on the other side of the building. This was a rather large hotel. A 4 star one too. It was just that my luck had it that the central heating and air conditioning system was not working right in the room they originally gave to me. Once I got to the new better room the central heating and air conditioning system was working as properly as it should have been in the other room. I had no issues setting the thermostat. Everything worked right and when I turned on the heating or the air conditioning it stayed on. When I turned it off, it shut off. I was only at this hotel for a few days, but it was hot out so I for sure needed properly working air conditioning. The central air conditioning was great at the hotel and I ended up having a good stay once I got the new room.

I had bought a smart thermostat and used it for almost a year.

• While it had many benefits including lowering my electric bill a little, I simply am just an old school kind of person and prefer a digital thermostat without all the different technology and all that which comes with a smart thermostat.

So next week I am going to be getting rid of my smart thermostat and giving it away to a friend, and then I will be buying a standard digital thermostat. It really is the only way to go for me. I feel much more relaxed and comfortable with a digital thermostat because it is cut and dry simple. I do not have to deal with computer apps or programing on my cell phone. I just get up and walk to the thermostat on the wall in the hallway and turn on the heating or the air conditioning with the temperature set wherever I want it to be, and that’s it! Easy working of my central heating and air conditioning system like it once used to be. This is the way that I prefer it. My friend who I am giving my smart thermostat to thinks I am crazy and just a middle aged fool, but he is more up to date with things because he has kids. I do not. So I do not have these young folks to teach me about today’s heating and air conditioning technology. So I will just continue to stick to the old as long as I can until I have no choice but to get with the modern times.
