Just the other afternoon, as the weatherman was predicting uneven temperatures in the 90s and maybe even into triple digits, I came home from work and found out that my air conditioner was not working.

I laughed at my pet whose tongue was hanging out of her mouth, and when I went to make sure she had water I discovered that her bowl was just as dry as the desert, so, I feel it had not been working for quite a while during the afternoon when I was not here.

We called the air conditioner dealer, and they were quite helpful. They agreed that it was undoubtedly important that they get out here the next afternoon to see what was wrong with my heating and A/C. I have only had a few occasions where I have had to call the heating and A/C professionals, every time that I have used this heating and cooling dealer, the people that work there have been quite nice, friendly, as well as professional, then of course, when I discovered the malfunctioning A/C oh, it was already about 7 at night, as well as way too late to expect someone to come and repair the air conditioner. true to their word though, they did arrive the next afternoon oh, and I was quite blissful to see the AC truck pull into my driveway. The night before I had slept without any air conditioner. Oh, and that was the time when I came to like the fact that I live in this country that is so blessed that we are able to even have heating and cooling. We are able to change the weather!

Of course, when I discovered the malfunctioning AC oh, it was already about 7 at night, and way too late to expect someone to come and repair the air conditioner. True to their word though, they did arrive the next morning oh, and I was quite ecstatic to see the AC truck pull into my driveway. The night before I had slept without any air conditioner, and that was the time when I came to love the fact that I live in this country that is so lucky that we are able to even have heating and cooling. We are able to change the weather!

A little while back, my brother started telling me about ductless HVAC systems and he told me I should look into them.

He said they even had DIY ductless mini split systems that could be installed by the average homeowner. I found it difficult to believe since the warranty should be voided if the HVAC installation was done by a non-professional. He explained that with some of these DIY systems, there was a warranty still granted but for half the amount of time if installed by non-professionals. Of course if the systems were installed by HVAC experts, the full warranty would be granted. I thought this was interesting news. Then about a month later, my brother called me and asked if I wanted to help him install his HVAC system. I thought he was crazy. I didn’t really want to help, but I did want to make sure he didn’t get himself killed. I actually got into the installation after awhile. My brother had a few friends over and they were good company. A few of them had already done this at their own homes and apparently that’s where my brother learned about these systems. The installation wasn’t that challenging and it was impressive how well the system worked when we were done. It only took about 2 hours, and the electrical part was the biggest challenge. Now my brother is trying to get me to go for one of these HVAC installs at my place, but I think I need some time to think about it because I’m not sure if I could just settle for half the warranty.
