I just came back from the beach at noon and it was packed with high schoolers on a Thursday.

I asked one of them if it was a school holiday today and they said no, they just skipped school today because the weather was so nice. I could see wanting to be in the warm sun as opposed to a cold classroom with no central heating. For some reason the schools don’t have any climate control in them, I guess it is because of a lack of funds. I couldn’t imagine going to class in June with no air conditioning and having to sit all day in the sweltering heat. Maybe they get used to it but I think I would be skipping class quite often if that was the case. I remember in elementary school in the south, we had no air conditioning and I would be sweating as I watched the kid beside me kill gnats and count them on a napkin. It was a slap in the face with heat compared to the cool classrooms I was used to when I lived up north. Luckily, when I made it to middle school we had the luxury of a central HVAC system to keep us comfortable year round. I’m so spoiled now in my flat I couldn’t imagine living without it anymore, not even for a single day. Come to think of it, I need to clean the HEPA filter today because I noticed it is getting a white film of dust on it as it’s been a few months since I’ve cleaned it.

I will be flying out of here in six days and gone for a month so I need to think about what I need to do with this place while I am gone.

Maybe I need to get a friend to come over to turn on the HVAC system each day and run the fan at least so it doesn’t get too stale and dusty here.

I should also have him flush the toilet each few days so the water doesn’t start growing lily pads and have tadpoles swimming around. I have a whole home air purifier and am wondering if I should leave it on, but a month straight seems like a long time for it to be running. It would also get very clogged up with dust if my friend doesn’t come over to clean it. I am going to get a kitten when I come back so I need to keep that in mind when I go on my next long trip away. Maybe my HVAC rep could come over and catsit while I am gone if I let him stay here. I need to figure that out because I can’t let a cat stay here alone even if someone were coming over each day to visit it. I need someone to live with it or it would get very sad and lonely I bet. I’m going to go to the local business today, that deals with pets, and see if they have any ideas about what to do with a pet if you are gone for a few weeks or so.

He told me he wants to do the ice water dip, and finally tomorrow my cooling representative is going to go with me on my cold sea dip.

I don’t know if he will be able to last the whole 15 minutes, or even if he should try and last, because it can be quite painful for the first few minutes.

I can see him all nice and warm in front of the radiant heater before he goes outside into the cold air and heads for the beach with his towel. I would say there is a 85% chance that he backs out and changes his mind. I’ve had other people do the same. My HVAC specialist friend went on the dip with me a few months ago and ended up screaming the whole time he was in the water saying how cold it felt. I told him to relax when he goes in and to keep his breathing slow and steady, like the navy seals do, but he just couldn’t do it. He ended up going home and lighting a fire in his fireplace and sitting in front of it the whole day. I know that 55F water is not the ideal bathing temperature, especially when it is cloudy and below freezing outside, but the benefits far outweigh the temporary uncomfortable feeling you get for the first few minutes in the sea. I have a system down to warming myself up afterwards with a hot bath and a hot space heater beside me. I think if you warm up right after the dip you are okay.

As crazy as this may sound, I recognize the only way to travel long distance with having a portable space gas furnace plus portable cooling system.

The reason I recognize a portable space gas furnace plus a portable a/c plan are needed when traveling is because you never know what you are going to encounter while staying at a hotel or even staying with friends plus family.

There could come a time where there is either an Heating plus Air Conditioning emergency where the central heating plus a/c plan breaks down where you are staying at or you could end up staying somewhere that the heating plus a/c plan is entirely weak. And if it is Summer I will be carrying the portable a/c plan machine with me. Occasionally in the Spring weeks of the year it is a toss up. You may need the portable space gas furnace or the portable a/c plan depending on what region of the country you are going to be staying in. But regardless, never leave lake house without your portable space gas furnace plus portable cooling system. That is the way I live, that is the way I travel plus I highly request it to everyone.
