A lot of clubs in the neighborhood lack quality a/c in the hottest portions of the summer, plus it can get quite uncomfortable inside. You end up sweltering when you’re just trying to have a superb time. The last time I went to an indoor concert, it was at a big concert hall that had such superb a/c that I actually felt frosty at several times throughout the show. I wore cool clothing to make sure I didn’t swelter, but it turned out to be unnecessary with the strong a/cs in the concert hall. I know I was lucky this time around with the temperatures inside the building.

I do not like some of the scammy “as seen on TV” products, because I had a few serious headaches in the early internet afternoons before I could check multitudes of forums plus social media websites for reviews prior to buying.

I don’t think what upset me worse—the induction type soldering iron that never worked, or the copper-coated cookware that was stickier than our 30-year-old stainless steel fry pan.

Both of these products were large failures when I got our hands on 1 of each. I see a lot of those copper-coated fry pans at thrift stores because people buy them plus then get rid of them for nothing. I would much rather spend that time exposing the scam behind these products being sold as “personal air coolers” which are far worse. They’re underpowered evaporative coolers that are underpowered plus given the wrong application altogether, however you need a low humidity level for an evaporative cooler to work in the first venue, in part because they rely on vaporizing water into a mist plus adding it into ambient air to get the temperatures to drop. If the ambient air indoors or wherever you’ve got your “personal air cooler” stationed is too wet from the start, you’re not going to have evaporative cooling of any kind whatsoever.

When I wanted an Ipod in high college so I could listen to my music at college, they were beyond my capacity to afford the purchase. Most of my extended family members were bad so I didn’t genuinely get money for birthdays or holidays that I could save for larger purchases. Luckily, I l gained about factory refurbished Ipods that were 35% less than the brand modern 1s. My parents were skeptical that I’d be getting a broken unit that only worked for a few weeks at best, however it arrived and looked like it was brand new. That factory refurbished Ipod lasted for 6 years of quarterly use until I left it on a cruiseliner inadvertently. For all I know, it would have survived for much longer had I not lost it in the end. So when I needed a modern window a/c for my home and realized it would cost a lot more money than I initially realized, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to look for a factory refurbished device before settling on something needlessly more lavish. I was delightfully surprised to hastily find a marketplace for factory refurbished appliances and scored a deal on a name brand window a/c for $50 less than the normal retail device. This amounted to a 25% savings overall, and the refurbished device works perfectly fine. The supplier who made the device did a fantastic task making sure it was toiling like a brand modern model. There were no smells in the window air conditioner and little to no sign of use.

As a guy, many of my close friends in my 20s lived fairly unencumbered lives.

• Several were perpetual bachelors with messy apartments and lacking hygienic standards that I take for granted within my own life.

I hated visiting my friends’ homes and being disgusted by the state of their lavatorys and bedrooms. Even the 1s with long term partners didn’t seem to care enough about cleanliness and beach home repair. Back then they just wanted to party and have as much fun as possible, and few were thinking about the long term future and what it would hold. My neighbor Chris lived in the town down the street from the state hospital. They would settle on every conceivable surface inside his duplex, and you can imagine how exhausting it would get after just a few weeks of no dusting or sweeping. I would have mild allergic reactions whenever visiting his location and in the end I had to give up visiting my neighbor where he lives.
