I knew the air conditioner component was outside the bedroom.

I lived in this dwelling for four years, & I knew exactly where was because whenever I looked out the window I could see the top of the air conditioner unit.

What I didn’t realize until just this past summer, was that I could not open my bedroom window because the AC component was in the way. My friend and I had several easily cool weeks during the Summer were the air conditioner wasn’t necessary. I thought that I could open up a window in the bedroom & one in the living room, & get a cool breeze blowing to the house, however I thought wrong. The way the air conditioner component was installed, they had nailed the windows shut. I thought this was kind of strange, & was going to pull the nails up. When I got outside, I realize air conditioner component was much closer to the window than I had anticipated; Not only was it close to the window, however it was about 3 inches higher than the windowsill. I called the Heating & Air Conditioning company, & asked there would be a problem if I open the window? They send an Heating & Air Conditioning professional out to the dwelling to inspect the situation. His first question was why did my pal and I have the air conditioner component put directly under the window? I told him it had been there before my pal and I even bought this dwelling however this was the first Summer when I had considered opening up a window instead of having the AC component running. He shook his head & told me my pal and I were stuck with the AC component where was.

I had just moved into my current apartment, & I was so gleeful to finally beyond my own.

For 22 years I lived with my parents, however now I was graduated from school & had a wonderful job, then i knew it was time to have an home of my own… My home turned out to be half of the double home.

It was charmingly decorated, & the dwelling was completely furnished, except for the sizable bedroom; All I had to do was bring my bedroom furniture & I was home. My father came to look at the apartment, & the first thing he beginning looking for was the heater, and he knew there was a heating system & air conditioner unit, because it found the AC component & the temperature control, when he could not find was the heater. I showed in the door that led into the basement, however that didn’t get them somewhere. What he found out was that the heating system was shared by both sides of the house, which made sense because I didn’t have to spend my money for heat, and the problem was that since there was no way to get to the heater, what happened if my pal and I needed work done. My dad called the homeowner, & asked what happened is something happened to the heater. He said the door to the heating system room was part of the other renters property. If something happened to the heating system my pal and I would have to wait until they reported it to him & he was able to come to their dwelling with the Heating & Air Conditioning professional & have it repaired. The only thing dad had to say, was asking me if I had signed a lease.

We were only three mornings into the college year, when my child came condo complaining about the heat in college! She plopped her backside down onto a chair, dropped her bookbag onto the floor, and looked like the last Rosa summer.

She complained and asked me how long before fall arrives? I laughed and told her that summer time wasn’t even over yet, and she had to suck it up.

She told me the air-conditioning had already been turned off, and she was sure that they had heat coming up through the air vents already. After shaking my head and laughing, which drew some really dirty looks my way, I assured her the heat was not on yet. After a couple of groans and winds, she told me she knew that, however that is how warm it was in the college. She wanted me to call the superintendent and tell them they had to turn on the air conditioning because it was affecting the health of the children. She held up her hand and told me she did not want any stories about how they did not have air conditioning in the colleges when I went to college. She said she was pampered by the college and condo having perfect air conditioning, and I am not still having it on was affecting her mind and attitude. She was spoiled all right, however it wasn’t because of having air conditioning all the time. She was pampered and spoiled, however only because her daddy offered her everything she wanted, including her own temperature control in her kitchen and a heated bathroom linked to it..

During the summer time we often have pop-up thunderstorms in our area.

The heat and humidity combined, and it is the perfect situation for pop-up thunderstorms and/or tornado watches.

For two hours, our lights were flickering, and I knew we would eventually lose power. The temperature was in the 90s, and if we lost power, we would have no air conditioning. My hubby had not had our generator repair earlier this summer, and she was half afraid to use it. At the end of last summer, the generator was sputtering and doing gas out, which was not a great thing, however luckily, we did not need to use the generator all last summer. This summer time was going to be different. We had already lost power twice, however it came on within an hour and we did not really miss the air conditioning unit. If our power when out on this day, it would entirely be out the entire evening. Not only would we have to go without air conditioning, however my hubby’s oxygen and BiPAP would not be working. I was worrying more about him with her oxygen BiPAP, then I was about my asthma and not having air conditioning. At the first sign of power being offer more than an hour, my hubby called a hotel that was within a few miles of home. When they told him they only had one vacant room, she told him to save it and we would be there within an hour. We packed up her CPAP and portable oxygen, and headed to the hotel, hoping their air conditioning would continue working.
