It's strenuous to have a roommate

After I lost my task during the quarantine, I had a strenuous time finding something.

I used all of my savings to pay my rent, car payment, in addition to gas bill.

I did not have a lot of currency left over for anything, so I had to find a roommate suddenly. One of my aged co-workers named Jack provided to move into the hour kitchen in my lake house in addition to share the rent 50/50. The woman was still residing at house with her parents so it was a great transition to make, because she wasn’t going to be alone, however she was still sort of on her own. Her Dad in addition to Dad paid the security deposit in addition to two weeks rent when she moved into the apartment. I enjoy Jack a lot, but I have very noticed some behaviors that drive me crazy. Jack likes the indoor temperatures much colder than me. I normally have the thermostat temperature set at 74 degrees. The day Jack moved in, she made a comment about residing in a steam room. I thought she was joking, but apparently she was telling the truth. Every day when I wake up after Jack, I adjust the thermostat from 74° back up to 74 degrees. This has been going on for the past few weeks. I don’t guess all of the shifts in temperature are great for the thermostat or the air conditioning, but I don’t want to fight with my modern roommate when the woman just moved in. The indoor temperature seems enjoy such a trivial thing to argue about when one of us can put on a sweatshirt or put on a pair of shorts.

Various training methods

I make sure to charge up the style of exercises I do to give my joints and muscles a rest in-between.

I prioritize my health and fitness. I hope to look young and maximize quality of life. I want to maintain high energy levels. I got involved with sports when I was just a small child. I learned how to properly workout and take care of my joints and muscles. I gained a love of physical activity. I am now age 54 and still often play beach volleyball. I easily keep up with guys half my age. It takes a great deal of discipline to stay in good shape. I know that my efforts are worth it. Eating healthy foods is crucial to my fitness. I avoid excess sugar and alcohol. I don’t drink coffee or soda. Now and then, I might have a beer at the end of the day. I have kept a gym membership at the same facility for nearly twenty years. I use the facilities at least four times per week. I appreciate access to the variety of machines. I use everything from the free weights and running track to the stationary bikes and group fitness classes. Now and then, I might run or bike for a workout. I love to swim laps first thing in the morning. I am very conscientious about always including a proper warm up and cool down. I make sure to charge up the style of exercises I do to give my joints and muscles a rest in-between. I include strength training, including all the different parts of the body. I do a lot of high intensity cardio and also focus on balance, coordination and range of motion. I know that my efforts will serve me well as I age.

The weather affects my workouts

It is early July and the weather is beautiful. I prefer the warm summer days rather than the brutally cold winters. I am taking advantage of the sunshine and heading to the beach whenever I have some free time. The forecast says the temperatures this week will be consistently in the high eighties. That means I need to get up early to complete my workout before the heat of the day sets in. I am a little bit too far from the nearest organized gym to make a membership worthwhile. Instead, I’ve set up a home gym that works well for me. I have a decent set of hand weights and dumbbells and a lifting bench. I have a yoga mat and jump rope. I’ve bought some resistance bands and a wobble board. I spent a bit more on a treadmill and stationary bike. My home gym offers plenty of space to get in a full workout. The only issue is the lack of temperature control. One wall of the area is constructed of screens. For the most part, I’m thankful for the influx of fresh air. On really hot days, the area gets overheated and sticky. Despite running a box fan, I sweat profusely. I feel sluggish and it’s hard to push myself. I have the opposite problem during the winter. My home gym can be freezing cold. Running a space heater doesn’t make much difference. I need to bundle up in layers. It’s almost impossible to warm up and loosen up my joints and muscles. I am fortunate that for the majority of the year, the climate in my area is moderate. I just make sure to time my workouts to suit the summer and winter challenges.

Getting into better eating and fitness habits

I used to give into the temptation of sweets and snacks when I was in my 20s and 30s.

I noticed I was putting on some extra weight toward the end of my thirties. I needed to change my diet and focus on healthier eating habits. I eliminated nearly all sugars and began including more veggies and fruits. I cut back on the amount of fats I was consuming. I wanted to build muscle and knew that diet would play a huge part in my success. I enrolled in a wellness program and by following the advice of a nutritionist, felt better within several weeks. I suddenly had way more energy. I’ve since cut out all sugars. I only allow myself to eat sweets occasionally. I indulge on holidays. I have a fitness center near my home and signed up for a membership. I am able to ride my bike there and workout a few times a week. I take advantage of all of their different machines and strength training equipment. I love swimming laps in the pool. I also signed up for a yoga class that meets on Saturdays. I was surprised by how much I enjoy yoga. I suffer some pain in my joints from playing too much baseball and the yoga is really making a difference. I was shocked by how much flexibility I’d lost over the years. The different poses work to increase core strength, balance and range of motion. I like yoga so much that I’m now looking into other types of group classes. They offer spin classes, HIIT and circuit training during the week. I am planning to sign up for the next session.

I wish my sister would stop being so annoying

I really wish that my sister would stop being so annoying when she doesn’t get her way.

Now, she’s on this kick where she says that she’s not gonna come over to my house anymore this winter because she thinks that we keep the thermostat settings too low.

She says that she’s always freezing whenever she comes over and she can’t stand it anymore. You would have to know my sister, but she is pretty selfish and annoying. She has always been that way, and I don’t know why. I mean, we have the exact same parents, and we had the same upbringing but she is very different from me. I would never tell someone that they need to adjust their thermostat just to make me happy, but she does it every single time that she comes over. Now she is threatening me that she’s not going to come and visit anymore because she thinks it’s too cold over here. I think that I will just tell her just to stay away if that’s how she feels. Maybe I need a break from her too. I mean, maybe I will just tell her to stay away and that I will not see her again until this summer! Of course by that time, she will probably be complaining about the fact that we don’t have our air conditioning set low enough for her. Maybe I will just tell her that if she wants to be the one to pay for our heating and cooling bills, then she can be the one who sets the thermostat for us.
