If you ever decide that you’re going to date an HVAC technician, you better make sure that he’s not the HVAC technician that covers the area where you live. I somehow ended up making this mistake, and it has made my life very complicated lately. See, last year, I ended up dating the guy who came to my house to fix my furnace for me. He was a super good looking HVAC technician, and he was friendly and funny. When he first showed up at the house to fix the furnace for me, I could not believe my good luck. I had not been meeting many men lately and so when he asked me out for dinner, I said yes right away. Well we got along really well and ended up dating for almost an entire year. Right around our one year anniversary was when I found out that he was seeing someone else on this side! It turned out that he was a big jerk. Of course, I ended up dumping him and moving on with my life. But then a few weeks ago I ended up having some issues with my electric furnace. When I called the HVAC company, they sent someone out right away. Unfortunately for me, that someone ended up being my ex-boyfriend! I could not believe it when I saw him get out of the HVAC maintenance truck in my driveway. I guess that I should have specified to them that I did not want him coming to my house to fix my furnace. However, he explained to me that he’s the only guy who covers the area where I live.

I can’t believe it, but last week I ended up breaking my ankle when I was trying to clean out the air ducts in my house.

It wasn’t the smartest idea that I’ve ever had, that’s for sure.

Usually, I called my local heating and cooling company to come and do the air duct cleaning for me, but this year I decided that I was going to try and do it myself instead. I have been trying to save up some money because I want to go on a fancy vacation later this year during the summer when the weather starts heating up. Anyway, the money that I was going to spend on having my ventilation system cleaned professionally was going to go into my vacation fund instead. At least, that was my original plan. Of course, once I got started, I realized that I don’t know the first thing about cleaning air ducts or air vents or really anything about my ventilation system at all. I basically got out my step ladder, my vacuum cleaner, and some gloves and I tried to get to work. I did not make it very far, though. I managed to finish cleaning out the heating vents along the floor in the upstairs hallway with the vacuum hose before tripping over my own feet and whacking my ankle against the bottom of the stepladder. As I was rubbing that ankle with my hand, the vacuum tipped over and banged against my other ankle and ended up chipping a bone! I guess saving money on my HVAC services is just not in the cards for me.

This past December, we had a fireplace in our house for the first time ever.

I’ve been wanting to get a fireplace for a long time, but we’ve never had one in a house that we have lived in before. I remember back when I was a kid growing up in the northern part of the country. My grandparents used to have a world burning fireplace that they would start using at the beginning of the holidays and then they would use it all winter long. The wood burning fireplace didn’t give off all that much heat, but it sure did make my grandparents’ house feel nice and cozy during the holiday season. Ever since then, I always wanted to have my very own wood burning fireplace. I always thought that it would be a nice memory for our kids to have and I really wanted one myself! When I told my husband what I was thinking, he was not really all that excited about it at first. But then the more we talked about it, the more he started to think that it wouldn’t be that bad of an idea to get a new wood burning fireplace installed at our house. He went and talked to our local HVAC company to see how much it would cost to have a new fireplace installed at our house. I guess it turned out to be much less expensive than we originally thought that it was going to be. He decided to surprise me with it as a Christmas gift and I have to say that I loved it more than any other gift that I’ve ever received! Having a fireplace for the first time ever was just wonderful and now I can’t wait for next year.
