The HVAC installation was going to take awhile

Whenever there is an installation that includes a heat pump plus a cooling system, I tell the purchaser that it is going to take all day.

Most of the time it takes around 6 to 8 hours to install a heat pump plus a cooling system plus that is if there are no complications at all during the installation.

There are still customers that will ask how long it’s going to take when I arrive. I know that the office calls my customers the morning before and reminds them that it’s going to take all morning. I had a purchaser that was having a heat pump and cooling system installed last Wednesday. We started the installation around 9:00 a.m. I wanted to start installing the device at 7:00, but the purchaser said that was too early. When we started at 9:00, the lady wanted to know if we were going to be done by lunch. I laughed, even though she wasn’t joking around. I told the purchaser that we might not even be done prepping the area until supper time. I reminded her that it was going to take us at least 6 or 8 hours. After looking around at all of the unit and the section that we needed to work in, I told the purchaser that it was really going to take 8 hours. She had a sour look on her face. She disappeared into the home and I did not see her again until later that day. My crew and I were stopping to have lunch at 2:00. She looked at me like I was stealing from the money register.
