My grandma asked me to house sit for her a couple of weeks ago. I told her that I would do it, but to be honest, I was not looking forward to it. I love her house. It is an old Victorian style house, and it is super unique. I wisht that my house had some of those old features about it. The reason that I was not looking forward to it was because my grandmother keeps her house very warm. When I say warm, I mean like eighty-five degrees. I can only imagine how much it cost to keep her house that warm because it is huge. I was so glad to get there and find that she had turned the heat down a little bit. It was around seventy-five degrees in the house, but her bedroom was still around eighty-five degrees. She had asked me not to change the temperature in her bedroom because the dog is used to that temperature, but she also asked me to make sure that I sleep in there with her dog. Let me just say that it was the most miserable few weeks of my life. I ended up sleeping downstairs on the couch for the last week because I had had enough. I was not going to keep losing sleep just for her dog to feel more comfortable. I never told her that I didn’t sleep in there for the last week, and I don’t think that I ever will. I cannot believe that she can sleep in an eighty-five degree room. I was tempted to turn the thermostat down to seventy and see what she would say, but I decided that was probably a bad idea.
