It’s sort of weird the way I hear.

Since I was a little kid, it seems like my hearing is just different than most people that I know. It’s not that I have a hard time hearing or anything like that. In fact, it’s more the opposite. And that sensitive hearing ability actually saved me big time when it came to my HVAC equipment. I don’t know what it is really but I seem to be able to hear different tones and frequencies that other folks don’t hear. Inside the zone controlled HVAC of the office, I can sometimes hear these weird tones when things get quiet. I ask my coworkers if they heard those sounds and they always just roll their eyes. They all think that for sure, I’m hearing things and that’s all. But my wife has been around me long enough to heed the ear warnings that come along for me every once in a while. Once, we were riding in the car and I reached over to cut off the air conditioning so I could listen to something odd that I was hearing. The longer I listened, the more it seemed to be coming from under the hood. My wife pulled over just before something went wrong with the car and it overheated. A very similar thing just happened last week. I muted the TV to listen to the heat pump. It was the second time the air conditioning had turned on and I heard a weird sound. My wife didn’t even hesitate. She called the HVAC company and had them out the next morning. Sure enough, there was a problem that we caught early and saved money on.

It’s been more than a year now since we moved out of that house

The first time we really started thinking about selling our house was like five years ago. That’s when the kids were all out of the house. At that time, we had two in college and one starting a career. So it was just my wife and I inside the central air conditioning of that house. With all the kids gone, it seemed so vast and empty in that place. And when we looked at things like heating and cooling costs, lawn maintenance and other fixed costs, it seemed like too much for just us. Still though, we didn’t do anything really until the real estate market went crazy. And even then, we didn’t get serious about it until we began fielding calls from realtors wanting to list our home. That sort of lit the fire that finally got us moving on getting moved out. The house needed upgraded for sure. But the timing ended up being perfect when it came to the heating and cooling equipment. The old HVAC unit had finally bit the dust. But wow, we got so much quality heating and air from that central air conditioning unit. Thanks to consistent HVAC maintenance, we never once had a heating and cooling outage. The HVAC company was great when it came to replacing the old HVAC unit. We were able to get updated residential HVAC and the new HVAC technology that most buyers wanted. It’s been more than a year now since we moved out of that house. And I’m still at a bit of a loss when it comes to how much money we made on that place.

I had just bought a new car. My old car had gotten pretty beat up over the last 5 or so years, and so I figured it was time for a new one. I traded it in and got a brand new car, in a color I always wanted, which is deep blue. Anyways, as happy as I was with my car, there was one frustrating part, the cooling in the car only lasted about two weeks before it gave out. This was incredibly annoying, because this was supposed to be a new car! If the HVAC was already going out, I couldn’t help but to wonder about the rest of the car. But regardless, since this was a brand new car, I took it back to the dealership, and they fixed it for free for me. After the issue was resolved, that was the last problem I had with the car in a long time, which was a relief. I already have issues with my central heating and cooling at my house, the last thing I needed was HVAC issues in my car. The central HVAC in my home is most likely an easy fix as well, because the heating and A/C equipment is old and just needs to be replaced already. Once I get a new furnace system and air conditioner, all of my problems involving the heating and cooling equipment will go away. It is just affording such expensive HVAC installation that is the problem. It is something my wife and I are currently saving up for, but it will probably be another few months before we can afford it.

I know I shouldn’t have, because I was only digging myself in a deeper hole, but when my A/C machine broke down, instead of rushing out to get the heating and cooling device repaired, I instead waited as long as possible. I tried pretty much every method possible to avoid HVAC repair. I tried using fans and cold showers to endure the heat, and while that would work for some days, on the days when it was the hottest, there was no way anything else could compete with a central heating and air conditioning machine. I should have just accepted that, but instead I tried the crazy idea of repairing the heating and A/C device myself. I know, I should leave that up to a heating and A/C worker, but something told me I should give it a try. I took the A/C machine apart pretty easily, it was actually easier than I thought, it was everything else after that that was difficult. Something else that I didn’t know is that attempting HVAC repair without qualifications can actually be dangerous, but thankfully I didn’t get hurt. I couldn’t figure out how to repair the device, no matter what I tried, so I just had to give up and accept the fact that I couldn’t do this on my own. I called a HVAC worker, and I was afraid he would notice that I tampered with the cooling unit, but he didn’t say anything. The HVAC repair was expensive, but at least my A/C equipment is working again.

If your air flow is getting weaker and weaker, don’t ignore it and call someone out

You may not necessarily be sure that it is time to call out a heating and air conditioning technician under certain circumstances, but sometimes, it really is best to get the help of a professional. Certain things can go wrong that are a strong indicator that a professional HVAC technician really needs to take a look at your system. Here are a few reasons to call out an HVAC technician ASAP. First, if there is simply no air coming from your vents there is definitely something wrong with your HVAC system that needs attention from a professional. He or she will be able to diagnose the problem. Second, don’t ignore strange smells, particularly when they are strongest when the air conditioner is on. In fact, you’re probably going to want to shut your air conditioning off if there is a very strange smell every time it’s running, particularly if it is a burning electrical type smell. That could be very dangerous! Water leakage is also a strong indicator that your HVAC system needs professional repairs. It might be a clogged condensate line or some other such issue that needs to be addressed. Poor air flow in general is a good indicator that your HVAC system needs attention. If your air flow is getting weaker and weaker, don’t ignore it and call someone out. Finally, if you have noticed a marked increase in the amount on your electricity bill, more than likely it is because there is something wrong with your HVAC system, particularly if you have been using it the same way you always have.
