You really get what you pay for with heating and cooling systems, that’s what my parents always used to tell me back when I was growing up, but I never understood what they were talking about.

Of course, when you’re a kid, you don’t really care anything about the heating and cooling unit in your house, then you don’t even realize that it’s a thing at all. You just know whether it’s too hot or too cold in your house. My parents used to always have an HVAC serviceman come over to our home at least 3 times a year to check on our heating and cooling unit for us. I remember this HVAC guy who used to come to our home because he would always give me gum and both of us would chat while he was doing our proper gas furnace service and our a/c service for us. This guy knew what he was doing, and even though our parents said that they had to pay him a little more than they would have really had to pay another HVAC serviceman, it was worth it. They always said that our HVAC serviceman was the best one in town and that he was totally worth the extra money. Now that I’m an adult and I have to take care of my own HVAC unit at my place, I remember that lesson. I still make sure that I hire the best HVAC serviceman that I can find to come and do the service on our HVAC idea in our house.
